EMC to Collaborate with MIT Media Lab

It’s interested in personal information management, information integration and cloud computing

EMC has set up EMC Research Cambridge, a new research presence in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and joined the MIT Media Lab as a consortium sponsor.

The company says EMC Research Cambridge leverages and brings into close collaboration RSA Laboratories, EMC Research China and its Santa Clara Incubation Lab.

Apparently it's interested in personal information management (a little something VMware CEO Paul Maritz brought to EMC), information integration and cloud computing while EMC's research collaboration with MIT will focus initially on new models for data ownership and usage; innovative interfaces for social and business transactions; and technologies to help consumers take control of their own health care management.
