Paglo Delivers First Cloud-Based Log Search Engine

All Businesses Now Benefit From Easy-to-Use Log Management SaaS Service and Instant Retrieval of Critical Events

MENLO PARK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/30/09 -- Paglo (www.Paglo.com), the IT management SaaS leader, announced today a breakthrough new service for indexing, searching, and visualizing log data. The new Log Management application enables IT professionals to automatically capture and store their logs and instantly search and analyze them. It is the newest application on the Paglo IT management SaaS platform and adds to the existing inventory discovery, server and VMware virtualization monitoring, and network management capabilities.

Paglo Logs provides Google-like search for logs. The power of search is that it enables rapid discovery of key operational events, a platform for meeting compliance requirements and a way to accelerate the investigation of security incidents. Customers can sign up for free to get started.

Paglo Logs collects rich log data from all networked devices and requires no additional software, servers, or appliances to use. Because it is on-demand and has a 'zero footprint' architecture, customers can start collecting and searching their logs in minutes. The fact that Paglo now collects logs, in addition to the asset and network related data means that companies can achieve the following:

-- Accelerate problem resolution by going directly from the logged events to the underlying infrastructure, to view health and performance data or to access a particular machine.

-- Meet the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard by tracking all devices, software and configurations, monitoring wireless access, and securing central log collection.

-- Provide both Developers and Operations the ability to troubleshoot application issues and understand user behavior without logging into the production servers.

-- Improve their security profile and incident response by immediately receiving alerts and using hundreds of saved searches and dashboards.

"Companies need to harness and analyze the information explosion coming from all of their computer, server, network and log data," said Dana Gardner, principal analyst at Interarbor Solutions. "It's a very productive way to improve operating efficiencies, gain a clear understanding of true IT costs, and to meet compliance requirements. As an on-demand service, Paglo helps drop the complexity barriers to quick and effective log search and analytics."

The new Log Management service is available immediately and customers can get started for free. Accounts can be created directly online and paid plans start at US $99 per month. Each business has its own secure Paglo Search Index that keeps the log and network information completely separate and private from every other user.

"Paglo now offers a complete system-of-record for IT," said Brian de Haaff, Paglo CEO. "The addition of logs furthers the value we provide and means that Paglo collects more IT and operational data than any other product or service ever has. The fact that Paglo collects all of the asset, network, and log data, makes 'universal IT search' a reality."

Why are APIs so important in clouds? Do APIs have to be open? How fast or slow will standardization in the cloud be? Why is ensuring high availability for the cloud service critical? In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Mårten Mickos, CEO of Eucalyptus Systems, will answer these questions and address cloud standards, APIs and the critical question: Will we end up with one, two or more competing cloud standards? The proliferation of device connectivity is redefining the functionality requirements and capabilities of many embedded systems as more and more of these devices look to leverage the “Cloud.” While many commercial software and hardware component vendors have begun to realign their value propositions to satisfy growing demand, commercial-off-the-shelf products (COTS) alone cannot meet every OEM’s needs. As a result, the Embedded Cloud has injected a new level of uncertainty and a new competitive ...
