Enables businesses and governments to build applications that improve interactions with customers

Adobe Systems has announced Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 2 (ES2), a software release enabling businesses and governments to build applications that improve interactions with customers and constituents across devices and channels. Delivering significant productivity improvements to IT and line-of-business managers, LiveCycle ES2 provides a rich Internet application (RIA) framework for building customizable RIA workspaces, mobile and desktop access to critical applications and deployment in the cloud. Enterprises can now deliver personalized experiences that connect to automated processes and embed real-time collaboration in the applications to improve customer experience and boost employee productivity.

“Adobe LiveCycle ES2 is an ideal complement to our business process automation efforts. With the latest release, we anticipate even greater efficiencies in automating processes that touch our employees, partners and customers,” said Rainer Hahn, chief information officer for personal services telekom at Deutsche Telekom. “Adobe LiveCycle ES2 is flexible and easy-to-use, enabling us to quickly transform some of our most complex business processes. This helps us better reach our business goals.”

“Adobe LiveCycle ES2 enables enterprises to build software solutions that work the way people work, in a format that people have become accustomed to in their personal lives, with social media, mobile and consumer applications -- this is key to driving business in today’s economy,” said Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president and general manager, Business Productivity Business Unit. “LiveCycle ES2 offers powerful tools and environments such as model-driven application development, self-service RIA frameworks and streamlined authoring to enable organizations to create applications that more effectively generate, capture, and exchange critical information.”

LiveCycle ES2 now integrates more tightly with the Flash Platform and PDF technologies. This enables enterprise developers to create user-centric applications that contrast with the more traditional, unwieldy system-centric applications users have had to tolerate. New Adobe application modeling technology brings higher productivity to Adobe® Flex® and LiveCycle developers and allows them to more efficiently write applications by reducing the amount of code and simplifying data and service integration. Also, a new LiveCycle ES2 plug-in for Adobe® Flash® Builder™ 4 beta lets developers more seamlessly embed LiveCycle ES2 technologies into any Flex based application. Furthermore, the new Adobe® LiveCycle® Collaboration Service (formerly Adobe Flash Collaboration Service), a hosted service, provides developers and enterprises with a scalable solution to easily build real-time, multi-user collaboration into existing or new RIAs. The powerful and flexible framework accelerates the development and deployment of user-centric applications by enterprise developers.

The new Adobe LiveCycle Mosaic ES2 is a composite RIA framework for rapidly assembling intuitive, personalized and activity-centric RIA applications. Developers can extend existing enterprise applications by exposing their business logic and user interfaces into application "tiles." Tiles are context-aware, user interface application components that can be assembled to create unified views that best suit the user’s work habits and specific needs. Users can switch between multiple tasks without losing work in progress, and can save workspaces to return to later.

Cloud is a shift from the focus on underlying technology implementation to leveraging existing implementations and further building upon them. Cloud orchestration or a network of clouds is the wave of the future where these clouds can operate with elasticity, scalability, and efficiency. Effective service management is an important aspect of managing such networks. The transition to the cloud will enable the further aggregation of composite web services and enhanced business-to-business capabili...
The focus of Java EE 7 is on the cloud, and specifically it aims to bring Platform-as-a-Service providers and application developers together so that portable applications can be deployed on any cloud infrastructure and reap all its benefits in terms of scalability, elasticity, multitenancy, etc. The existing specifications in the platform such as JPA, Servlets, EJB, and others will be updated to meet these requirements. Java EE 7 continues the ease of development push that characterized prior ...

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. Documents in 2012 are read, written, collaborated on, and distributed anywhere an Internet-enabled device can reach – which is to say, everywhere. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Christopher Kenneally, Director of Business Development a...

2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, John Yung, CEO of Appcara, will discuss how 2012 will be the year for app...

As more enterprises are adopting clouds, the nature of cloud computing is changing. Previously, clouds were used to test applications or for non-mission critical applications. Today, enterprises are using clouds for cost-saving advantages and launching more mission critical applications that have defined performance needs. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Eric Shepcaro, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Telx, will discuss how distributed computing has many advantages. It wou...
