TMW Systems Acquires Innovative Computing Corporation

TMW Systems announced today that it has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of privately-held BetaZone Inc., including its wholly owned subsidiary, Innovative Computing Corporation (ICC). The acquisition of Innovative, or ICC, with offices in Brentwood, TN and Oklahoma City, OK, further strengthens TMW’s presence in the transportation industry as the leading provider of enterprise software for large and mid-range firms, both asset and non-asset-based. Terms of the transaction were not made public.

“TMW is proud to add the Innovative business to our family of robust enterprise applications for the transportation services industry. Their rock-solid technology, growing SaaS business and loyal customer base, make the ICC organization a great fit for our company and aligns well with our mission to help customers improve their efficiency and profitability,” said David Wangler, President and CEO of TMW Systems, based in Cleveland, OH. “The Innovative name is well-respected and their systems power the operations of many successful carriers across North America. We already serve many customers jointly with ICC through our integrated products such as TMT Fleet Maintenance software, IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC MatchAdvice and IDSC Netwise. We will continue to sell, support and develop the ICC product line to protect our customer’s technology and platform investments; a strategy that we have followed successfully with each of our previous company acquisitions,” Wangler concluded.

The transaction offers immediate benefit for both TMW and ICC customers as many of the products from both firms are already integrated, with hundreds of successful installations. ICC customers will now have greater access to a broad set of business productivity and best-of-breed maintenance and optimization technologies, as well as the significantly greater R&D and support resources of a larger organization. Existing TMW customers on the System i platform, including TL2000 and TMT Fleet Maintenance, will also benefit from expanded development resources and shared best practices with the ICC team. TMW’s Lifetime Support Policy for enterprise software products will be extended to all active clients running currently supported ICC software.

“Many Innovative customers have already found TMW Systems to be a strong industry technology partner where they have added TMW point solutions to their Innovative enterprise software,” noted Ernie Betancourt, president of ICC. “Our customers now have the opportunity to see their technology investment grow in value with TMW support and industry leadership.”

Since 1969, Innovative Computing Corporation, has developed, maintained and supported enterprise operations software designed for the truckload carrier industry, running on IBM mid-range servers, notably the IBM System i or AS/400 platform. ICC serves hundreds of successful firms, including many of the Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carriers. The Innovative Enterprise Software (IES) application is offered in both on-premise and software-as-a-service (SaaS) versions. In recent years, ICC has taken its SaaS offering to market in two versions; one geared for smaller carriers with more than 20 trucks and the other suitable for much larger firms with more complex business requirements.

TMW will hold a conference call today, December 1, at 5:00 EST time, for media representatives interested in further details about the acquisition.

Individuals who wish to participate on the conference call by telephone should dial-in approximately 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, using one of the numbers provided.

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. 2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth.
