Cloud Computing Comes to Hong Kong

CSL Selects SIMtone’s “SIMply Safe Everywhere” Universal Computing Platform

Cloud Computing on Ulitzer

CSL Limited (CSL) and SIMtone Corporation, provider of one of the first Universal Computing Platforms for the telecommunications industry, today announced the signature of a broad based, exclusive licensing agreement to develop groundbreaking cloud computing services for use over CSL’s Award-winning Next G wireless network to CSL customers in Hong Kong.

CSL will use and showcase SIMtone-based solutions, deliver “high-definition user experience” cloud services and resell private-cloud SIMtone product solutions to businesses and consumers. CSL’s SIMtone-based solutions will be pervasively accessible and seamlessly usable from a multitude of fixed and mobile screens, always connected to one of the fastest and most advanced wireless all-IP networks in the world, delivering peak download speeds up to 21Mbps.

Mr Tarek Robbiati, Group Managing Director of Telstra International and Chief Executive Officer of CSL, said: “Our vision is to fulfill the promise of technology to make our customers’ lives simpler and to empower people to create lifestyles that match their needs and desires. Simplicity enriches our lives, and our strategic partnership with SIMtone will bring the value of simplicity to everyone everywhere. For those who find technology complicated and hard to understand, that seems like a dream. But it's a dream that we're turning into reality every day.”

Consumers and business professionals demand the same experience and applications on wireless that they enjoy on a fixed wireline connection; anywhere, any content, stationary or mobile on any device. CSL’s investment in its world leading Next G HSPA+/LTE network combined with SIMtone’s unique, Universal Computing Platform create an unprecedented opportunity to deliver and support an explosion in demand for the “anywhere digital life” from a new generation of business and consumer devices tailored to new “anywhere” applications.
