Enterprise BI: Snaplogic and Mindtouch Team Up

OpenSource Vendors partner up for value added offering

BI at Cloud Expo

Sophisticated and advanced analytics tools that can strategically aggregate relevant data is key to the success of every business. The right solution can be challenging to find considering that we grab information from a multitude of platforms today – enterprise, web, social networks, SAAS, you name it..

Snaplogic and Mindtouch have decided to combine their respective offerings in a package that they call Business Application Integrations (BAI) which they say will work out cheaper to meet enterprise integration requirements for medium sized businesses.

SnapLogic is an open source data integration framework for integrating data on both sides of the enterprise firewall.

MindTouch helps with simplified, user friendly presentations of this data. So if you are in need of one service, you are probably in need of the other as well. Their combined solution powered by SnapLogic's DataFlow Server and MindTouch 2009 Presentation addresses the need to consolidate high-volume, complex and scattered metrics that could be critical performance indicators.

It comes priced at $4,995 for 50 users. While the cost of a traditional enterprise BI solution could run into six figures, the companies hope to win based on their product’s lower costs and fast deployment time. It supports both Salesforce.com and SugarCRM.

Market Research firm IDC recently reported a trend among open source vendors to invest in creating partner ecosystems for sales support, services, awareness building and demand generation initiatives. The partnerships help tackle new markets, spread their reach and even lower costs further. Alfresco with Sugar CRM, Ingres with Jaspersoft have all adopted this business model. RightScale, Jaspersoft, Talend and Vertica announced a combo stack early this year. Infobright and Talend have also teamed up to offer two integrated virtual machines.

What about the CRM software of FTS?
You mentioned that "it supports both Salesforce.com and SugarCRM". Does it also support FTS CRM software?
