La saison des soldes vient de démarrer, et il n’y a pas que les boutiques de vêtements à sacrifier à cette mode.
Le plus grand éditeur de logiciels du monde, Microsoft, a aussi commencé l’année en proposant des soldes pour ....Windows 7 et Office 2010 !

Sur l’un des blogs officiels de Microsoft, cette annonce a été faite début janvier 2010.

Microsoft Cash Cow Elles concernent les deux produits «vaches à lait» de Microsoft, Windows et Office.

Surprenant ? Oui, en apparence, non si l’on réfléchit quelques minutes, ce que je vous propose de faire avec moi.


Soldes

Big Announcement 50 % off Microsoft

Ces «soldes» concernent :
- Windows 7, la version la plus récente de Windows, annoncée en 2009.
- Office 2010, qui sera disponible au milieu de 2010.

Quelques précisions sur cette annonce :
Rebajas 50% - Cette réduction de 50 % s’applique à l’offre OVS (Open Value Subscription), qui permet aux entreprises de «louer» leur logiciel en payant une redevance annuelle. Elle n’est, pour le moment, valable que sur la location de la première année.
- Elle est réservée aux petites et moyennes entreprises. On peut quand même s’interroger sur la légalité de cette limite ; pourquoi les grandes entreprises n’y auraient-elles pas droit, elles aussi.
- Elle s’applique, et c’est une première, aux possesseurs des versions n-1 et n-2 de ces logiciels, ce qui veut dire que les migrations suivantes seront possibles :

- Windows XP et Windows Vista vers Windows 7.

- Office XP, 2003 ou 2007 vers Office 2010, quand cette version sera disponible.

- Ces soldes sont valables six mois, jusqu’au 30 juin 2010.

Les nouvelles offres Office 2010

Prices Office 2010 Microsoft vient de rendre publics les prix aux USA des différentes versions d’Office 2010. Les prix en Europe et en France ne sont pas encore connus, mais devraient suivre la «règle habituelle» d’un prix identique en euros et en dollars, en clair un surcoût de près de 50 % pour les pays de la zone euro.

Pour la version 2010, Microsoft innove en proposant pour la première fois une version sans «boîte», que l’on peut activer avec un code (download). Par contre, l’option «mise à jour» (upgrade) disparait.

Version Beta Office 2010 Pour les entreprises, la version Professional regroupe tous les composants habituels d’Office.

La Loi de Moore de la division par 2 tous les 18 mois du prix des processeurs ne s’applique manifestement pas aux logiciels de Microsoft ! Office 2010 professional reste à $499, comme Office 2007.

Est-ce raisonnable ? Bien sûr que non !

Pour ce prix-là, que peut-on acheter, en 2010 ?
HP 197 $ - Un PC portable de grande marque avec écran de 15 pouces. Il est même possible d’en trouver beaucoup moins cher, comme ce modèle HP commercialisé par Best Buy à $197 pour Noël 2009.

- 7 ou 10 ans d’usages de la version professionnelle de Google Apps, selon que l’on achète la version d’Office 2010 avec clef d’activation ou en boîte.

Petit rappel : Google Apps coûte $ 50/an (40 €/an) et comprend, en plus des équivalents d’Office, la messagerie, l’agenda, le chat, le vidéo chat, la création de sites...

Une combinaison des deux :
$ 499 = Office 2010 version professionnelle.
$ 499 = Un PC portable HP 15 pouces + 6 ans de Google Apps professionnel.

$499 - Office 2010 ou HP + Apps

Qui pourra vraiment, en 2010, se regarder dans la glace après avoir payé un prix aussi déraisonnable pour Office 2010 ?

Microsoft a bien compris l’absurdité des prix officiels de ce logiciel, et le démontre en proposant, pour la première fois, des soldes sur un produit non encore annoncé.
On peut même, en attendant, essayer Office 2010 ß en téléchargement gratuit.

Je rappelle aussi, pour les personnes qui souhaiteraient encore utiliser un logiciel de bureautique obèse sur leur poste de travail, qu’ils peuvent télécharger, gratuitement, la solution Open Source Open Office V3.
