Village Green Goes Global With Enterprise Carbon Accounting That Drives Energy Efficiency and Improved Bottom Line Performance

Village Green Global, Inc. today announced the worldwide launch of its enterprise carbon accounting solutions and services that enable enterprises to reduce their carbon footprint and improve bottom line performance. The company’s Software Management Audit Reporting Technology (SMARTweb®) delivers scalable SaaS reporting for carbon accounting that enables organizations to implement and maintain sustainable business practices. Village Green also provides an integrated solution that provides training and education services that facilitate the delivery of green collar jobs.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recent implementation of the first greenhouse gas reporting system requires large emitters of heat-trapping emissions to begin collecting greenhouse gas (GHG) data. Companies must first issue a report on the status quo, and provide ongoing reports thereafter. This creates a real need for a scalable method like SMARTweb that collects this data, and enables enterprises to make changes that will promote energy efficiency, ensure compliance, and be friendly to the bottom line.

SMARTweb is an automated system that offers reports and recommendations to improve resource management. The system has been used to generate 6,000 environmental audits in order to ensure its interoperability and effectiveness, with Version 3.2 being released in 2009. With a comprehensive dashboard of electrical usage and costs, an onsite audit, summary reporting, and detailed listing of approximately 30,000 devices SMARTweb leads enterprises to measurable savings. Village Green not only provides these businesses with a carbon accounting software solution, but also works with them to ensure sustainability practices are met.

Village Green recognizes the need for training and education services within the emerging environmental services sector. The company’s Get Green® Trainer Program provides an extensive course curriculum that facilitates the creation of green collar jobs. The Get Green Trainer Program integrates software with tutorials to provide a sound methodology and tools for student use with ongoing mentoring to prepare for new jobs. The courses give students the opportunity to expand their understanding of environmental management, theory and practice, by examining the details of practical outcome-based environmental auditing and by undertaking real-world projects.

“SMARTweb® has been field-proven for over 8 years in Australia, and now we are delighted to make our services available to the world,” said Doug Smith, founder and CEO of Village Green. “Our vision is to make it simple for organizations to become more energy efficient, reduce costs and create green jobs. SMARTweb provides the tools to enlighten enterprises about how they can save money by reducing their carbon usage. Get Green training provides the educated workforce to make this vision a reality.”

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. Documents in 2012 are read, written, collaborated on, and distributed anywhere an Internet-enabled device can reach – which is to say, everywhere. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Christopher Kenneally, Director of Business Development a...
Cloud is a shift from the focus on underlying technology implementation to leveraging existing implementations and further building upon them. 2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth.
