Cloud Computing’s Impact on Customer Service and Support Organizations

Cloudy with a Chance of Knowledge

Consona Corporation (Consona), a provider of customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for companies of all sizes, today announces an upcoming webcast presentation focusing on cloud computing and its impact on service and support organizations. The webcast, “Cloudy with a Chance of Knowledge,” occurring March 22, 2010, is presented by analyst and director of enterprise research for Yankee Group, Sheryl Kingstone, alongside Consona’s vice president of sales, Seth Marlowe.

The webcast will focus on answering potential questions facing service and support centers, such as:

  • What’s the difference between SaaS and Cloud hosting? Single tenant and multi-tenant?
  • Is it safe to host mission-critical apps and house sensitive, proprietary information in the Cloud?
  • How does the Cloud affect best practices, such as KCSsm?
  • How does Cloud hosting remove infrastructure costs and maintenance headaches

“When relying on applications to support extremely complex products and services, one cannot afford to subject a valuable asset like customer data to the security, reliability and scalability issues that accompany a first generation SaaS deployment,” said Marlowe. “Running on the Cloud eliminates these issues, while giving organizations flexibility in alternative deployment and pricing options, should their business conditions change.”

Register now for to participate in this conversation with Kingstone and Marlowe as they explore the qualities that make a company suited – or not suited – to run customer service and support tools from the Cloud.

Java EE 7 continues the ease of development push that characterized prior ...

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. Documents in 2012 are read, written, collaborated on, and distributed anywhere an Internet-enabled device can reach – which is to say, everywhere. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Christopher Kenneally, Director of Business Development a...

I've been working on Enterprise Cloud Strategy and in the course of this work identified some interesting and non-obvious opportunities in the Cloud. One solution I’ve examined is the well-crafted solution that is enStratus. enStratus has built a SaaS Cloud Management / Governance product focused on providing critical management, monitoring, governance capabilities tailored to the needs of the Global 2000 market, rather than the startup market. 2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, John Yung, CEO of Appcara, will discuss how 2012 will be the year for app...

As more enterprises are adopting clouds, the nature of cloud computing is changing. Previously, clouds were used to test applications or for non-mission critical applications.
