Cloud Expo Sponsor Symplified Named Top 100 Private Company

The OnDemand 100 winners were selected from among hundreds of technology companies nominated by investors

Symplified Session at Cloud Expo

Symplified, the Cloud security company, on Friday announced that it has been named an OnDemand Top 100 private company for 2010 by AlwaysOn. The inaugural OnDemand Top 100 list recognizes companies that have developed game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players. Symplified will be honored at AlwaysOn’s OnDemand event on April 19th, 2010, at Hewlett-Packard’s Worldwide Headquarters in Palo Alto, CA.

“Being named an OnDemand Top 100 company is an honor, and validates Symplified’s business and technology approach for providing the missing link in cloud computing – a trust mechanism that bridges enterprise security policies and administration with cloud services,” said Eric Olden, founder and CEO of Symplified. “Cloud computing is shaking the foundations of how IT departments traditionally manage their resources, but Symplified enables organizations to maintain control and extend their security policies to applications and data they reside outside their datacenters.”

The OnDemand 100 winners were selected from among hundreds of technology companies nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and industry insiders. The AlwaysOn editorial team conducted a rigorous three-month selection process to finalize the 2010 list. Symplified was specially selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team and industry experts spanning the globe based on a set of five criteria: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value, and media buzz.

CI/CD is conceptually straightforward, yet often technically intricate to implement since it requires time and opportunities to develop intimate understanding on not only DevOps processes and operations, but likely product integrations with multiple platforms. This session intends to bridge the gap by offering an intense learning experience while witnessing the processes and operations to build from zero to a simple, yet functional CI/CD pipeline integrated with Jenkins, Github, Docker and Azure.
The now mainstream platform changes stemming from the first Internet boom brought many changes but didn’t really change the basic relationship between servers and the applications running on them. In fact, that was sort of the point. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Gordon Haff, senior cloud strategy marketing and evangelism manager at Red Hat, will discuss how today’s workloads require a new model and a new platform for development and execution. The platform must handle a wide range of recent developments, including containers and Docker, distributed resource management, and DevOps tool chains and processes. The resulting infrastructure and management framework must be optimized for distributed and scalable applications, take advantage of innovation stemming from a wide variety of open source projects, span hybrid environments, and be adaptable to equally fundamental changes happen...

For years the world's most security-focused and distributed organizations - banks, military/defense agencies, global enterprises - have sought to adopt cloud technologies that can reduce costs, future-proof against data growth, and improve user productivity. The challenges of cloud transformation for these kinds of secure organizations have centered around data security, migration from legacy systems, and performance. In our presentation, we will discuss the notion that cloud computing, properly managed, is poised to bring about a digital transformation to enterprise IT. We will discuss the trend, the technology and the timeline for adoption.
