CommVault Integrates Cloud-Optimized Simpana with Mezeo’s Cloud Platform

Partnership on Cloud Enablement Solutions to Help Service Providers Accelerate & Monetize Emerging Cloud-Based Service Offering

CommVault and Mezeo Software (www.mezeo.com) today announced they have partnered to provide enterprises and service providers with secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud-based data management solutions by seamlessly integrating CommVault's cloud-optimized Simpana software with the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform. CommVault's integrated cloud storage connector for Simpana software simplifies data movement and management for the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform.

Purpose-built for service providers, the rapidly deployable Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform with built-in data management capabilities enables IT service providers to offer branded cloud storage solutions to end users for disaster recovery, business continuity and compliance requirements. With the combined CommVault and Mezeo cloud-enabled storage solution, infrequently accessed archive and backup data can be moved easily to the cloud for reduced reliance on expensive, on-premises disk and tape storage. Simpana software's singular platform and embedded functionality, including data deduplication and encryption, further reduces costs and extends security while easing data tiering to the cloud.

CommVault Simpana software takes full advantage of native REST connectivity and Mezeo's Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to accelerate the deployment and monetization of value-added cloud storage services.

As a Mezeo Ready Partner solution, the CommVault solution integrates seamlessly with the Mezeo platform to create complete, customized cloud storage offerings.  CommVault has expanded its Service Provider Program by offering a monthly usage based program where service providers avoid incurring heavy capital expenses by only paying for what they use. As a result, CommVault enables service providers to drive new, higher-margin revenue opportunities while minimizing administrative and infrastructure costs by leveraging Simpana software's singular platform and integrated product functionality to support a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) commercial business model. CommVault's technical support can meet the specific needs of service providers with the Remote Operations Management Service (ROMS®) offering, which provides integrated alerting, reporting and data verification functionality based on standard Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

"CommVault is committed to working with our technology and service provider partners in helping enterprises embrace a cost-effective cloud computing model," said David West, vice president of marketing and business development for CommVault. "Our Simpana software and modular approach to data management integrates transparently with Mezeo's service-enabled cloud storage platform to streamline customer deployments and quickly monetize new managed services."

"Together, CommVault and Mezeo are making it easier for service providers to rapidly deliver robust cloud storage services with fully integrated data management capabilities," said Steve Lesem, president and CEO of Mezeo Software. "As a member of our Mezeo Ready community, CommVault has seamlessly integrated Simpana software with the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform, enabling our customers to further differentiate their cloud-based offerings."

According to Keith Archibald, product development specialist for Revera, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider based in Wellington, New Zealand, the partnership between CommVault and Mezeo enables Revera to provide its customers with a scalable cloud  platform delivering managed services that address emerging backup, archive, disaster recovery and compliance requirements. "With the combined Mezeo cloud storage and CommVault Simpana software solution, we can offer our customers a fast and flexible solution for moving, managing and storing data securely and reliably in the Revera Cloud while opening up new revenue streams from value-added services."

The dynamic nature of the cloud means that change is a constant when it comes to modern cloud-based infrastructure. Delivering modern applications to end users, therefore, is a constantly shifting challenge. Delivery automation helps IT Ops teams ensure that apps are providing an optimal end user experience over hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments, no matter what the current state of the infrastructure is. To employ a delivery automation strategy that reflects your business rules, making r...

You know you need the cloud, but you're hesitant to simply dump everything at Amazon since you know that not all workloads are suitable for cloud. You know that you want the kind of ease of use and scalability that you get with public cloud, but your applications are architected in a way that makes the public cloud a non-starter. You're looking at private cloud solutions based on hyperconverged infrastructure, but you're concerned with the limits inherent in those technologies. What do you do?
As many know, the first generation of Cloud Management Platform (CMP) solutions were designed for managing virtual infrastructure (IaaS) and traditional applications. But that's no longer enough to satisfy evolving and complex business requirements. He expla...
In a recent survey, Sumo Logic surveyed 1,500 customers who employ cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). According to the survey, a quarter of the respondents have already deployed Docker containers and nearly as many (23 percent) are employing the AWS Lambda serverless computing framework. It’s clear: serverless is here to stay. The adoption does come with some needed changes, within both application development and operations. Tha...
Modern software design has fundamentally changed how we manage applications, causing many to turn to containers as the new virtual machine for resource management. As container adoption grows beyond stateless applications to stateful workloads, the need for persistent storage is foundational - something customers routinely cite as a top pain point. The past few years have brought a sea change in the way applications are architected, developed, and consumed—increasing both the complexity of testing and the business impact of software failures. How can software testing professionals keep pace with modern application delivery, given the trends that impact both architectures (cloud, microservices, and APIs) and processes (DevOps, agile, and continuous delivery)? This is where continuous testing comes in. D
