Innotas Innovates SaaS Industry With API Strategy; Uses Apigee for Industrial-Grade Control, Management and Visibility

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/05/10 -- Innotas, the leading provider of SaaS-based IT governance project portfolio management (PPM), is using Apigee's Enterprise API management platform to gain visibility and control of its API strategy.

An Apigee customer for over two years, Innotas' API allows its users to easily integrate its PPM solutions with other systems for better automation and management of business processes.

"Apigee gives us a single point of visibility and control over our API," said Tim Madewell, Vice President of Professional Services, Innotas. "This has been critical to effectively serving our API users, protecting our platform, understanding usage, and quickly diagnosing customer problems. Additionally, the Apigee team has worked closely with Innotas as an extension to operations and customer support."

"As Innotas has grown and the use of our API increases, the Apigee team continues to provide configuration services to support our growth and expand our use and value from the Apigee product," said Lamar McMechan, Operations Manager, Innotas. "Customizations and upgrades have been seamless."

Deliverable as a hardware, virtual appliance or cloud-based solution, Innotas hosts the Apigee Enterprise platform in a cloud environment to achieve scale and flexibility.

Apigee's analytics provide visibility into who and how the API is being used and allows trending over time, making it possible for Innotas to understand use cases, how changes affect adoption and which areas of the API to invest in. Apigee's control and security capabilities let Innotas weed out bad traffic, debug problems quickly, get monitoring and alerts and protect against malicious or unintentional threats.

"Innotas is a SaaS industry leader using APIs to innovate and enable integration and flexible service," said Chet Kapoor, CEO, Apigee. "With a standards-based web services offering, Innotas enables customers to meaningfully and easily integrate applications and extend its capabilities."

With Innotas' API, users can share information with third party tools, link services together, connect with legacy systems and get mobile access to data without the traditional pain of enterprise integration.
