ROMER CimCore Response to FARO Patent Suit: Laser Scanning Arms Do Not Infringe

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ROMER CimCore, a Hexagon Metrology company, has carefully reviewed the patent infringement lawsuit filed by FARO Technologies on November 15, 2005, in Federal District Court in Orlando. ROMER CimCore is confident based on outside opinion that its laser scanning arm CMM products do not infringe the claims named in the suit regarding US Patent 6,965,843 ('843), entitled "Portable Coordinate Measurement Machine with Integrated Laser Line Scanner."

"This lawsuit was filed same day the patent was issued," said Bill Gruber, President and CEO of Hexagon Metrology North America. "The legal review of the information presented in the hastily compiled complaint leads us to conclude that our products do not infringe. Therefore, we are continuing shipments of laser scanning arms, and want to reassure past and future customers that they do not possess a product that infringes the '843 patent."

ROMER CimCore Inc. designs and manufactures portable coordinate measurement machines. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Measurement group of Sweden's Hexagon AB (Stockholmsborsen: HEXA A), the world's largest provider of precision dimensional measurement hardware and software. http://www.hexagon.se/

The precious oil is extracted from the seeds of prickly pear cactus plant. After taking out the seeds from the fruits, they are adequately dried and then cold pressed to obtain the oil. Indeed, the prickly seed oil is quite expensive. Well, that is understandable when you consider the fact that the seeds are really tiny and each seed contain only about 5% of oil in it at most, plus the seeds are usually handpicked from the fruits. This means it will take tons of these seeds to produce just one bottle of the oil for commercial purpose. But from its medical properties to its culinary importance, skin lightening, moisturizing, and protection abilities, down to its extraordinary hair care properties, prickly seed oil has got lots of excellent rewards for anyone who pays the price.
