DocuSign’s Cloud API to Accelerate Integration with Force.com, Ruby, PHP

Includes Other Key Cloud Platforms

DocuSign Web Services Offers Developers Powerful New Tools to Easily Integrate DocuSign Electronic Signature Services with Leading Cloud Applications

DocuSigns New Cloud API to Accelerate Integration with Force.com, Ruby, PHP and Other Key Cloud PlatformsWe’re excited about the release of the DocuSign Connect Application Programming Interface (API) for the DocuSign electronic signature platform. The new Connect API is designed to increased interoperability with key cloud platforms like Force.com, Ruby and PHP, allowing developers to easily create and integrate native applications with the DocuSign electronic signature platform. Get information about this new API, available now from the DocuSign Developer Center.

The new DocuSign Connect API will enable developers to quickly build powerful new apps on the Force.com enterprise cloud computing platform that incorporate DocuSign electronic signatures. – Kendall Collins, chief marketing officer, salesforce.com.

DocuSign Connect API At-a-Glance

The new DocuSign Connect API offers significant advances in ease of use and interoperability with cloud applications that rely on XML over HTTPS rather than use WS-Security. Now developers on these cloud-based platforms can easily integrate all DocuSign services into their applications using native tools and procedures.

Other enhancements with the new DocuSign API update include:

  • Simplified Authentication: Developing new applications or integrations to work with the DocuSign platform is now easier. DocuSign’s new authentication will enable a broader set of developers to access DocuSign Web Services. Developers who use Apex Code, Ruby and PHP platforms that do not have built-in support for WS-Security standard, will find it easier to pass authentication information to DocuSign with their SOAP calls. DocuSign has added other authentication enhancements including the ability to securely share credentials with integrated applications.
  • Collect and Protect Sensitive Information: The new Connect API makes it possible to collect sensitive information from one signer without revealing that information to another signer. Developers can quickly set the property on a data field to conceal the values such as credit card or Social Security numbers. Once the signer enters the values and advances to the next tab, the information is concealed. These concealed values are available through the download and API functions.
  • Enhanced Management of PDFs: DocuSign has created a new API method to manage PDFs that carry DocuSign envelope information. This enables DocuSign to handle the PDF forms and forms metadata that organizations already have. Developers can use Connect API to manage DocuSign envelope recipient information, signing instructions and message aspects inside forms and forms management systems rather than through separate DocuSign templates.

Tom Gonser, founder and chief strategy officer at DocuSign, shares his thoughts on DocuSign’s new API:

DocuSign continues to provide state-of-the-art solutions to dramatically streamline the workflows of secure document signing and processing. Our new Connect API allows a much broader community of developers to leverage the full and growing power of the DocuSign electronic signature platform. We look forward to the creativity developers can bring to integrating DocuSign with cloud-based applications. The new Connect API is just another example of DocuSign’s leadership as the standard in electronic signature services and demonstrates our collaborative efforts in delivering innovative world class solutions.

Everyone wants the rainbow - reduced IT costs, scalability, continuity, flexibility, manageability, and innovation. But in order to get to that collaboration rainbow, you need the cloud! In this presentation, we'll cover three areas: First - the rainbow of benefits from cloud collaboration. There are many different reasons why more and more companies and institutions are moving to the cloud. Benefits include: cost savings (reducing on-prem infrastructure, reducing data center foot print, reducing IT support costs), enabling growth (ensuring a highly available, highly scalable infrastructure), increasing employee access & engagement (by having collaboration tools that are usable and available globally regardless of location there will be an increased connectedness amongst teams and individuals that will help increase both efficiency and productivity.)
SYS-CON Events announced today that Silicon India has been named “Media Sponsor” of SYS-CON's 21st International Cloud Expo, which will take place on Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2017, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. We are seeing a major migration of enterprises applications to the cloud. As cloud and business use of real time applications accelerate, legacy networks are no longer able to architecturally support cloud adoption and deliver the performance and security required by highly distributed enterprises. These outdated solutions have become more costly and complicated to implement, install, manage, and maintain.SD-WAN offers unlimited capabilities for accessing the benefits of the cloud and Internet. SD-WAN helps enterprises to take advantage of the exploding landscape of cloud applications and services, due to its unique capability to support all things cloud related.
