InterComponentWare (ICW) Founder and CEO to Participate in Key Plenary Session at The Emerging Technologies and Healthcare Innov

WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Reuschel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, InterComponentWare (ICW) AG will participate in a key plenary session at The Emerging Technologies and Healthcare Innovations (TETHIC) Congress, taking place Dec. 7 - 9 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The session titled "Are RHIOS Right For Your Community? Who Will Benefit?" is scheduled for Friday, December 9, from 11 a.m. until noon.

Reuschel, a leader and pioneer in the application of technology to create better health, will provide his perspective on the role that Personal Health Records (PHRs) will play as Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOS) take on greater importance in the delivery of healthcare in the United States.

Other participants in the panel discussion include: Micky Tripathi, PhD, President, Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative; Sumit Nagpal, Founder & CEO, Wellogic; Dan Garrett, Senior Vice President, Computer Sciences Corporation and David Gardner, Chief Executive Officer, ProviderLink. Russ Ricci, MD, Chief Medical and Strategy Officer, Healthstar Communications, Inc. and a member of the eHealth Initiative Leadership Council will moderate the session.

ICW, founded in Walldorf, Germany in 1998, is a leader in the international e-health market focusing on the development of healthcare data information exchange platforms with solutions that connect physicians, hospitals, payers, and patients through tools that enable the streamlined, secure sharing of information. ICW is committed to working together with providers and vendors to deliver interoperable health information systems across connected healthcare communities. ICW's suite of integrated offerings have been developed using an ASP delivery model incorporating standards-based interfaces that reduce the cost of application integration and implementation.

A key ICW offering is LifeSensor(R), a web-based PHR in which patients can store and manage important information about their past and present health status, medical history, results, images, and documents in one convenient and secure location. The patient, as the true owner of the record, grants authorization access for other healthcare team members or care-givers to view, add or update information to all or specific sections of their PHR.

ICW will also be participating in the TETHIC trade show via a newly- designed exhibit featuring demonstrations of the LifeSensor technology. The TETHIC activities are all a part of ICW's strategic commitment to grow and succeed in the U.S. e-health market.

In addition to the company's presence at TETHIC, ICW has invited over a dozen key E-Health opinion leaders to participate in a new advisory board. The advisory board is scheduled to convene semi-annually to provide consulting and strategic direction to ICW's management. The first meeting of the advisory board is taking place on Dec 7th and 8th, 2005 in Philadelphia, PA. The two-day event will focus on strategic discussions on ICW's U.S. market entry in the areas of Personal Health Records and e-Health platforms for RHIOs and Connected Healthcare Communities (CHCs).

ICW is a rapidly growing international company of more than 180 employees with offices in Walldorf, Germany; Berlin, Germany; Sofia, Bulgaria; Vienna, Austria; and San Mateo, California.

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. Documents in 2012 are read, written, collaborated on, and distributed anywhere an Internet-enabled device can reach – which is to say, everywhere. Cloud is a shift from the focus on underlying technology implementation to leveraging existing implementations and further building upon them. Cloud orchestration or a network of clouds is the wave of the future where these clouds can operate with elasticity, scalability, and efficiency. I've been working on Enterprise Cloud Strategy and in the course of this work identified some interesting and non-obvious opportunities in the Cloud. 2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, John Yung, CEO of Appcara, will discuss how 2012 will be the year for app...

As more enterprises are adopting clouds, the nature of cloud computing is changing. Previously, clouds were used to test applications or for non-mission critical applications.
