3X Systems Delivers Major Software Enhancements to Its Line of Remote Backup Appliances

New 3.0 Version of 3X Remote Backup Appliance Delivers Enterprise-Class Features Such as "Bare Metal Recovery," Granular Exchange Recovery, and Support for Virtualized Environments for Backup Over the Internet

COLUMBUS, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/11 -- 3X Systems today announced the release of version 3.0 of its award-winning 500 and Tera Series remote backup appliances (RBA). These are unique "private cloud" storage systems for data backup and disaster recovery popular with small and medium businesses, especially those in healthcare, financial services, non-profit, and professional services that need to comply with regulations covering the availability and storage of electronic data. The 3X remote backup appliances ensure all user and application data is safe and easy-to-recover, yet confidential, and always under user control, regardless of location.

The 3X appliances can automatically back up an organization's Microsoft Windows-based servers, workstations, and laptops over the Internet to a central, easy-to-manage storage device that delivers complete data protection and disaster recovery capabilities. The systems' unique Locator Service finds and identifies each computer regardless of location, so even home and mobile user data is protected. Integrated de-duplication, compression, encryption and block-level backup capabilities mean that data changes are securely and efficiently transmitted to the central storage system. A central appliance can store from 100 gigabytes to 1.6 terabytes of data and support up to 100 users.

With the 3.0 release, 3X Systems has added features more commonly found in large enterprise systems. The new features include "bare metal recovery," granular Exchange recovery, and support for virtualized environments.

The "bare metal recovery" feature can protect the entire system image, including all settings, applications, and data. This means that whole systems can be recovered rapidly after suffering data loss, theft, or corruption. In contrast, data-only recoveries require users to lose productivity as they spend hours, if not days, reinstalling software applications and reconfiguring system settings that ultimately may never be quite the same.

Granular Exchange recovery, or "brick-level" recovery, for Microsoft Exchange 2010 and earlier versions allows administrators and users to quickly and easily recover granular data ("bricks"), such as an individual mailbox, email message, calendar, or contact, without having to recover the entire Exchange system.

3X has also added support for VMWare, Microsoft, and Oracle virtualization platforms to version 3.0. This enables organizations that are sharing computer resources using virtualization to simplify IT management and reduce overall infrastructure costs with an efficient private backup cloud, while maintaining full control of their data.

Version 3.0 of the 500 and Tera Series appliances will be available through 3X Systems' network of information technology resellers and solution providers.

CloudEXPO Stories
The precious oil is extracted from the seeds of prickly pear cactus plant. After taking out the seeds from the fruits, they are adequately dried and then cold pressed to obtain the oil. Indeed, the prickly seed oil is quite expensive. Well, that is understandable when you consider the fact that the seeds are really tiny and each seed contain only about 5% of oil in it at most, plus the seeds are usually handpicked from the fruits. This means it will take tons of these seeds to produce just one bottle of the oil for commercial purpose. But from its medical properties to its culinary importance, skin lightening, moisturizing, and protection abilities, down to its extraordinary hair care properties, prickly seed oil has got lots of excellent rewards for anyone who pays the price.
