3X Systems Introduces “Private Cloud” Backup Appliance

New 3X RBA Enterprise Series remote backup appliance protects medium sized companies with distributed workforces over the Intern

3X Systems has announced the 3X RBA Enterprise Series, a unique remote backup appliance for larger organizations and distributed users. 3X Systems’ “private cloud” architecture ensures users’ data is safe and easy-to-recover, yet confidential, and always under their own control – critical considerations for organizations such as those in healthcare, financial services, non-profit, and professional services that need to comply with regulations governing electronic data.

With the new 3X RBA Enterprise Series, larger, distributed organizations can back up all of their Microsoft Windows-based servers, workstations, and laptops over the Internet to a central, easy-to-manage appliance that delivers complete data protection and disaster recovery capabilities. Integrated de-duplication, encryption, and block-level backup capabilities mean that data changes are securely and efficiently transmitted to the central 3X RBA appliance. The Enterprise Series provides up to 10 terabytes of usable storage.

The system contains all of the new features recently announced in Version 3.0 of the 3X Remote Backup Appliance 500 and Tera Series:

  • “Bare Metal Recovery.” By protecting the entire system image, including all settings, applications and data, user productivity is restored much faster after suffering data loss, theft, or corruption. In contrast, data-only recoveries require users to spend hours, if not days, reinstalling software applications and reconfiguring system settings that ultimately may never be quite the same.

  • Support for latest Microsoft Exchange backup and “brick-level” recovery. Administrators and users can now quickly and easily recover granular data (“bricks”), such as an individual mailbox, email message, calendar, or contact, without having to recover the entire Exchange system.

  • Support for IT environments where computer resources are shared using virtualization.

  • Faster Data Transfer Rates. 3X Systems has accelerated the data transfer rate between the protected computer and the remote appliance for faster backup and recovery.

“The RBA Enterprise Series expands on our award-winning line of backup appliances that are popular with smaller organizations because they are reliable, affordable, and extremely easy to use,” said Mr. Alan Arman, CEO of 3X Systems. “These qualities are also in demand by larger organizations with small offices and remote users beyond the reach of the data protection capabilities of their data centers. The 3X RBA Enterprise Series allows such organizations to protect those users and to quickly restore them to productivity should the need arise. It also facilitates compliance with regulations like HIPAA/HITECH and the PCI DSS where total data control and privacy is important.”

The new 3X RBA Enterprise Series remote backup appliance is now available through 3X Systems’ network of information technology resellers and solution providers.

CloudEXPO Stories
In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Mike Johnston, an infrastructure engineer at Supergiant.io, will discuss how to use Kubernetes to setup a SaaS infrastructure for your business. Mike Johnston is an infrastructure engineer at Supergiant.io with over 12 years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining server and workstation infrastructure at all scales. He has experience with brick and mortar data centers as well as cloud providers like Digital Ocean, Amazon Web Services, and Rackspace. His expertise is in automating deployment, management, and problem resolution in these environments, allowing his teams to run large transactional applications with high availability and the speed the consumer demands.
At CloudEXPO Silicon Valley, June 24-26, 2019, Digital Transformation (DX) is a major focus with expanded DevOpsSUMMIT and FinTechEXPO programs within the DXWorldEXPO agenda. Successful transformation requires a laser focus on being data-driven and on using all the tools available that enable transformation if they plan to survive over the long term. A total of 88% of Fortune 500 companies from a generation ago are now out of business. Only 12% still survive. Similar percentages are found throughout enterprises of all sizes.
Modern software design has fundamentally changed how we manage applications, causing many to turn to containers as the new virtual machine for resource management. As container adoption grows beyond stateless applications to stateful workloads, the need for persistent storage is foundational - something customers routinely cite as a top pain point. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 21st Cloud Expo, Bill Borsari, Head of Systems Engineering at Datera, explored how organizations can reap the benefits of the cloud without losing performance as containers become the new paradigm.
As you know, enterprise IT conversation over the past year have often centered upon the open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system. In fact, Kubernetes has emerged as the key technology -- and even primary platform -- of cloud migrations for a wide variety of organizations. Kubernetes is critical to forward-looking enterprises that continue to push their IT infrastructures toward maximum functionality, scalability, and flexibility.
Because Linkerd is a transparent proxy that runs alongside your application, there are no code changes required. It even comes with Prometheus to store the metrics for you and pre-built Grafana dashboards to show exactly what is important for your services - success rate, latency, and throughput. In this session, we'll explain what Linkerd provides for you, demo the installation of Linkerd on Kubernetes and debug a real world problem. We will also dig into what functionality you can build on top of the tools provided by Linkerd such as alerting and autoscaling.
