Telx and Hexagrid Team up to Offer Private Hosted Cloud Solutions

Data Center Operator Teams with Leading Infrastructure-as-a-Service Software Provider

Telx, an interconnection and data center provider in nine strategic North American markets, has announced a strategic alliance with Hexagrid Computing, a developer of cloud enablement software solutions. The non-exclusive relationship empowers Telx's managed service provider (MSP) and enterprise colocation customers in all 15 Cloud Connection Centers to build their own customized cloud environments using highly scalable, secure private cloud infrastructure and connectivity supplied by Telx's Interconnection services and Hexagrid's innovative cloud computing platform.

"Telx is working with Hexagrid to further advance our goal to become the destination for cloud enablement for our customers," explained Darryl Brown, Director of Cloud, SaaS and Media for Telx. "Working with partners such as Hexagrid helps us better serve our client needs and the fast-growing cloud community of interest the Telx cloudXchange, by enabling rapid provisioning of Hexagrid's VxDatacenter platform on optimized, standardized hardware in our Cloud Connection Centers. It's an efficient, cost effective, secure way for our customers to quickly build private hosted clouds and connect them privately into their networks."

The Telx-Hexagrid private cloud solution leverages the strengths of both organizations to deliver a streamlined cloud package.  Within Telx's carrier-dense, SLA-ensured Cloud Connection Centers, customers have the power to choose the best carrier for their needs, with the most appropriate amount of latency. Hexagrid's award-winning VxDatacenter cloud platform optimizes kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) hypervisor technology as a comprehensive Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform, enabling IT organizations to virtualize and manage commodity hardware as customized public, private, or hybrid clouds. Hexagrid's cloud platform can be applied by either a service provider or enterprise to achieve multi-level control and management of virtual IT resources. VxDatacenter virtualization, on average, improves IT infrastructure utilization from the average 15% to over 85%, maximizing the value of capital IT investments.  Managed service providers and enterprise cloud end-users can remotely customize their hosted-private cloud environment, leveraging the benefits of private Interconnection and colocation services in Telx Cloud Connection Centers to improve security and performance.

"As the cloud market continues to mature and more organizations look to strategically build and position clouds throughout the world, we believe it is imperative for organizations to have a strong connection backbone and data center partner to rely on," said Joseph Seibel, CFO and VP of Strategic Development at Hexagrid Computing.  "We are very excited to announce our partnership with Telx for delivering enterprise class private hosted clouds that only a provider with such a highly connected data center environment can offer.  This relationship presents an ideal solution for MSPs and enterprises seeking faster and simpler ways to build premium, customized private clouds that maximize business value in the locations where they need them to be."

A look across the tech landscape at the disruptive technologies that are increasing in prominence and speculate as to which will be most impactful for communications – namely, AI and Cloud Computing. In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Curtis Peterson, VP of Operations at RingCentral, highlighted the current challenges of these transformative technologies and shared strategies for preparing your organization for these changes. This “view from the top” outlined the latest trends and developments in AI and Cloud Computing technology innovation for enterprise communications to help you shape your future strategy.
DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm. In their Day 3 Keynote at 20th Cloud Expo, Chris Brown, a Solutions Marketing Manager at Nutanix, and Mark Lavi, a Nutanix DevOps Solution Architect, explored the ways that Nutanix technologies empower teams to react faster than ever before and connect teams in ways that were either too complex or simply impossible with traditional infrastructures.
Historically, some banking activities such as trading have been relying heavily on analytics and cutting edge algorithmic tools. The coming of age of powerful data analytics solutions combined with the development of intelligent algorithms have created new opportunities for financial institutions. In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Sebastien Meunier, Head of Digital for North America at Chappuis Halder & Co., discussed how these tools can be leveraged to develop a lasting competitive advantage in priority areas: customer analytics, financial crime prevention, regulatory compliance and risk management.

According to the IDC InfoBrief, Sponsored by Nutanix, “Surviving and Thriving in a Multi-cloud World,” multicloud deployments are now the norm for enterprise organizations – less than 30% of customers report using single cloud environments. Most customers leverage different cloud platforms across multiple service providers. The interoperability of data and applications between these varied cloud environments is growing in importance and yet access to hybrid cloud capabilities where a single application runs across clouds remains elusive to most organizations. As companies eagerly seek out ways to make the multi cloud environment a reality, these new updates from Nutanix provide additional capabilities to streamline the implementation of their cloud services deployments.
