PerspecSys Delivers Cloud Data Protection @ Inland Empire Health Plan

Gateway will support Inland Empire Health Plan’s use of Oracle CRM On Demand

"PerspecSys enables Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) and other healthcare customers to confidently deploy leading SaaS applications like Oracle CRM On Demand, while eliminating the security and compliance barriers that previously got in their way,” noted  David Canellos, CEO of PerspecSys, the leader in cloud data protection solutions for the enterprise, as PerspecSys recently announced an agreement to provide its Cloud Data Protection gateway, including the PRS server and Oracle CRM On Demand adapter, to IEHP.

Canellos speaks on SYS-CON.tv with Cloud Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan

PerspecSys’ gateway lets customers like IEHP take full advantage of Oracle CRM (one of the world’s most popular cloud SaaS solutions) while ensuring their sensitive data remains on-premise and under their full control at all times.

“We designed the PerspecSys Cloud Data Protection gateway specifically with organizations like IEHP in mind,” Canellos continued, adding:

“In highly regulated industries like healthcare, keeping sensitive patient information out of the cloud and within an organization’s control is an important step towards maintaining compliance. But leveraging the cost and efficiency benefits of the cloud is also critical to remaining competitive."

Inland Empire Health Plan, a not-for-profit organization projected to serve close to 1M California residents by 2014, provides managed health services to individuals and families. Operating at the intersection of healthcare and government, IEHP’s customer management and data security needs are critical – and their regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) are extremely high. By using the PerspecSys software coupled with Oracle’s cloud-based CRM solution, they will be able to streamline application management, improve customer interactions and retain full control of protected health information.

The PerspecSys solution, said Canellos, gives IEHP important data privacy, residency and security capabilities when using Oracle CRM On Demand. Sensitive information is secured through the use of tokenization or encryption, he explained, ensuring the data remains undecipherable when it is processed or stored in the cloud. This lets IEHP protect sensitive data while their customers and employees benefit from use of the latest cloud applications.

PerspecSys announced its support of Oracle CRM On Demand at the 2012 RSA Conference recently held in San Francisco, California. A member of the Oracle Partner Network, PerspecSys worked closely with Oracle to develop its solution which enables users of CRM On Demand to retain critical functionality, such as the ability to Search on data within the application, even though the information users are Searching against has been tokenized or encrypted before it has been placed in the cloud.
