Intel Cloud SSO Goes from Private Beta to Public

Intel has partnered with Salesforce to develop and run this application on the Force.com platform

We’re happy to announce general availability of Intel Cloud SSO IAM-as-a-service today after running it in private beta mode for 2 months with select customers. See press release here. Intel has partnered with Salesforce to develop and run this application on Force.com platform (PaaS from Salesforce). The application offers federation, provisioning and strong authentication with a built-in SSO portal for easy access to target cloud applications.

How do I learn more about this new service from Intel?

  • If you have 2 min, then watch the overview video.
  • If you got 10 min, then also watch the product demo.
  • If you are an IT admin or architect, then the best way to learn is to try it out yourself by submitting your request for a FREE 30 day trial account and using Quick start guide to get your first SSO connector up and running in 30 minutes.
  • If you have the technical chops, and like to know “How it works”, then read the “How Intel Cloud SSO works” whitepaper.
  • If you are the security geek, and wants to understand “How secure is the service”, then read the security whitepaper.

Who is it for?

Intel Cloud SSO is for Enterprises and SMBs who are using SaaS applications. It’s not a service for consumers.

Which SaaS applications does it support?

Intel Cloud SSO supports 100+ SaaS applications  through out-of-box SSO connectors that requires minimal configuration to setup. It also includes standards based generic SAML connector that can be used to connect to any application that supports the SAML protocol. See sample list of most popular applications supported by the service. For complete list, contact us.

I’m a SaaS application provider. How can I get my application added to Intel Cloud SSO application catalog?

We’re adding new applications to our catalog on a weekly basis, and looking for application providers who would like to partner with us. Visit here for details.

What’s unique about Intel Cloud SSO compared to others?

There are several capabilities we offer that differentiates us from others. Here’re the top few.

  1. One price for unlimited applications
  2. Beyond SSO, it provides auto user provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts in target apps, and 2-factor authentication based on One Time Password (OTP) included with the service
  3. Customers already using Salesforce, receive tighter integration with Intel Cloud SSO as it runs on the same platform (Force.com) as Salesforce. For e.g. getting “SSO portal” snap-in into their Salesforce application, and avoiding separate login for Intel Cloud SSO
  4. Includes an optional “Identity Bridge” – a lightweight java software component that runs on-premise to authenticate against on-premise identity stores such as Active Directory, and synchronizing changes made to user profiles in such identity stores.
  5. Integrates with Intel hardware technologies such as IPT – Where customers use Intel powered client devices with IPT enabled such as Ultrabooks, Intel Cloud SSO transparently performs 2-factor authentication without requiring the user to enter OTP value in a browser window.

According to the IDC InfoBrief, Sponsored by Nutanix, “Surviving and Thriving in a Multi-cloud World,” multicloud deployments are now the norm for enterprise organizations – less than 30% of customers report using single cloud environments. Most customers leverage different cloud platforms across multiple service providers. The interoperability of data and applications between these varied cloud environments is growing in importance and yet access to hybrid cloud capabilities where a single application runs across clouds remains elusive to most organizations. As companies eagerly seek out ways to make the multi cloud environment a reality, these new updates from Nutanix provide additional capabilities to streamline the implementation of their cloud services deployments.
In today's always-on world, customer expectations have changed. Competitive differentiation is delivered through rapid software innovations, the ability to respond to issues quickly and by releasing high-quality code with minimal interruptions. DevOps isn't some far off goal; it's methodologies and practices are a response to this demand. The demand to go faster. The demand for more uptime. The demand to innovate. In this keynote, we will cover the Nutanix Developer Stack. Built from the foundation of software-defined infrastructure, Nutanix has rapidly expanded into full application lifecycle management across any infrastructure or cloud .Join us as we delve into how the Nutanix Developer Stack makes it easy to build hybrid cloud applications by weaving DBaaS, micro segmentation, event driven lifecycle operations, and both financial and cloud governance together into a single unified st...

"Cloud computing is certainly changing how people consume storage, how they use it, and what they use it for. It's also making people rethink how they architect their environment," stated Brad Winett, Senior Technologist for DDN Storage, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
