Racemi to Demonstrate Cloud Onboarding at Cloud Expo NY

First-time demonstrations of Windows Server migrations to public clouds

At the upcoming Cloud Expo New York, Racemi will demonstrate its online migration service Cloud Path that now makes migrating existing Windows servers to public clouds point-and-click easy.

The company will demonstrate for the first time how to quickly onboard existing Windows applications to cloud computing providers, like Amazon EC2, GoGrid, Rackspace and Terremark, without costly professional services or rebuilding servers from scratch. The support for Windows servers is being added to the current beta of Cloud Path which already provides support for Linux servers.

Racemi is a Silver Sponsor of Cloud Expo, which takes place at the Javits Center in New York City from June 11-14. Attendees can visit Racemi's booth #337 and sign up for limited time, free online migrations as part of its beta program.

"We're getting great feedback from Linux users of Cloud Path," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "There is simply no faster, easier, or low-risk way to migrate existing applications to cloud computing."

The company's head of services, Adiascar Cisneros, who has spoken at packed, standing-room sessions before at Cloud Expo - will be talking on "Reducing the Cost and Complexity of Cloud Migrations" where he'll cover managing the migration process with minimal cost and risk. His session is on Wednesday (June 13) at 5:30 p.m.

Racemi CEO, Lawrence Guillory, will participate in a "CEO Power Panel: Cloud & Big Data Strategy Viewed through the Lens of Business Value" on Tuesday (June 12) at 7:10 p.m.

Racemi migrates workloads to the cloud by comparing the configurations of the source and destination servers, and then configuring the necessary cloud tools, virtual machine components, disk and network layout "in-flight" to ensure that the image can be run on the target cloud platform. Unlike other technologies, Racemi's image-based provisioning software does not require modifications to the application.

Whenever a new technology hits the high points of hype, everyone starts talking about it like it will solve all their business problems. Blockchain is one of those technologies. According to Gartner's latest report on the hype cycle of emerging technologies, blockchain has just passed the peak of their hype cycle curve. If you read the news articles about it, one would think it has taken over the technology world. No disruptive technology is without its challenges and potential impediments that frequently get lost in the hype. The panel will discuss their perspective on what they see as they key challenges and/or impediments to adoption, and how they see those issues could be resolved or mitigated.
There's no doubt that blockchain technology is a powerful tool for the enterprise, but bringing it mainstream has not been without challenges. As VP of Technology at 8base, Andrei is working to make developing a blockchain application accessible to anyone. With better tools, entrepreneurs and developers can work together to quickly and effectively launch applications that integrate smart contracts and blockchain technology. This will ultimately accelerate blockchain adoption on a global scale.
