Cloud Expo Silicon Valley: Holland Takes the Cloud By Storm

Dutch cloud companies strongly represented this week at 11th Cloud Expo in Santa Clara, CA

The Dutch government invited 10 selected companies with international experience and ambition to present their software and services at the Holland Pavilion during Cloud Expo Silicon Valley in Santa Clara, CA, November 5-8, to showcase what Holland and the Dutch Cloud Computing Industry have to offer.

If you mention Dutch Clouds your first thought might be of old Masterpieces by Vermeer or van Ruysdael. Thick smudges of grays culminating in impressive skies over a neatly cultivated flat countryside. Cloudy skies are still part of the distinct features of this Kingdom by the sea, but the green acres and tulips have been effectively ploughed to become test beds for high performance IT solutions.

Holland is considered one, if not the most important data exchange point for the European continent.
For example the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) is the second largest internet exchange in the World creating a unique ecosystem that drives innovation and development.

The Holland Pavilion made its debut at Cloud Expo in New York, June 2012

The staggering level of affordable broadband and mobile connectivity has indeed drastically changed life and economy in Holland. And with a traditional outward look on business and trade, mentioning Cloud will probably have the highly educated and often multilingual population grab their web connected mobile devices. Moving services, data, platforms and storage from the device into the cloud.

In this innovative market many Dutch companies have developed high end services and proprietary software ready for the transatlantic market. Ten of these companies will showcase their software and services at the Cloud Computing Expo in Santa Clara at the Holland Pavilion.

The ten exhibiting companies at the Holland Pavilion are: IS Channels, Interxion, Cameramanager.com , Servoy, Stealth Software, Workvoices, Pangaea, 2020 Vision, Silver Solutions and TBlox

The Holland Pavilion is commissioned by NL Agency International and executed by handelsroute.nl

Enterprises can't close their doors just because integration tools won't cope with the volume of information that their systems produce. As each day goes by, their information will become larger and more complicated, and enterprises must constantly struggle to manage the integration of dozens (or hundreds) of systems. Apache Hadoop has quickly become the technology of choice for enterprises that need to perform complex analysis of petabytes of data, but few are aware of its potential to hand...
