Core Solutions Signs Safeway to Implement CBX SaaS Platform for Global Sourcing Operation

Core Solutions, a leading provider of extended product lifecycle management, global sourcing and supplier collaboration systems for the retail industry, today announced it has signed an agreement with Safeway to implement CORE’s CBX Enterprise software to support the retailer’s global sourcing and direct import operations.

As a leading U.S. grocery retailer, Safeway’s supply chain, from concept to delivery, has been engineered to ensure their high standards.

The CBX Extended PLM system will help Safeway streamline sourcing, order, logistics and finance to enable greater operational efficiencies. As part of the end-to-end solution provided to Safeway, CBX will automate the tendering process and facilitate order planning and execution. CBX will also support Safeway in managing supplier onboarding, quality assurance and shipment inspections, helping Safeway comply with regulations such as ISF 10+2.

To minimize unnecessary manual data input and increase productivity, CBX will be integrated with Safeway’s systems as well as 3PLs and customs brokers.

Safeway will utilize the Software-as-a-Service version of CORE’s CBX, which is delivered through CORE’s robust cloud platform, eliminating the need to invest in additional infrastructure.

“Safeway is a highly respected and innovative supermarket chain,” said Michael Hung, CEO of Core Solutions. “We are very pleased to win them as a client and partner and look forward to working with Safeway, rolling out CBX and making a positive contribution to Safeway’s supply chain.”

If zettabytes of data exist, why is less than 1% of the world’s data being analyzed today? Seasoned entrepreneur and startup CEO Radhika Subramanian believes that the inability to analyze and gain value from Big Data is that organizations are taking a services-centered approach. As the title of the session implies, Subramanian believes that the data needs to do the talking, not armies of analysts searching and querying databases. Her company has developed high-speed, advanced algorithms to autom...
