MicroStrategy Rated #1 by Dresner Advisory Study for Second Year in a Row for Mobile Business Intelligence Offering

MicroStrategy Receives Highest Overall Rating and Highest Customer Rating, Out of All 25 Vendors

TYSONS CORNER, Va., Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that it has been rated the top Mobile Business Intelligence (BI) offering out of 25 product offerings in the widely followed 2012 Wisdom of Crowds® Mobile Business Intelligence Market Study® from Dresner Advisory Services. This is the second year in a row MicroStrategy Mobile received this number one ranking.

Understand the Market to Fully Prepare for 2013

The MicroStrategy Mobile BI platform goes above and beyond standard business intelligence to become a full mobile app development platform. The MicroStrategy Mobile App Platform enables organizations to build a wide variety of essential mobile apps that deliver workflows, transactions, mobile operations systems access, multimedia, and business intelligence in compelling custom native apps.

The Dresner study rated MicroStrategy the top Mobile BI offering, with the highest platform score and the highest customer user rating for Mobile BI among all 25 vendors rated. Survey findings include:

  • Mobile business intelligence is the third-highest priority for mobile applications, and those that believe mobile BI is critical or very important have increased to 61% today, from 52% in 2010.
  • Organizations have aggressive implementation plans through 2015, with more than half expecting deployment above 41% penetration within 36 months' time.
  • For the most popular mobile platforms, users still have a strong preference for native apps.  This has been driven by the fact that native apps have more intuitive interfaces, faster performance and offline capabilities – all important to mobile business users.

"We're in the midst of a profound shift toward Mobile BI and mobile computing," said Howard Dresner, Chief Research Officer, Dresner Advisory Services, and author of the 2012 Wisdom of Crowds® Mobile Business Intelligence Market Study. "Mobile BI has become mainstreamed. In fact, for some, it's the only way they consume Business Intelligence content!  In 2012, its impact is now both clear and profound.  The study rated MicroStrategy the top Mobile BI offering, with the highest overall score and the highest customer user rating for Mobile BI among all 25 vendors rated."

"There's a powerful opportunity to take what's unique and compelling about Mobile Apps – embedded with workflows, multimedia, transactions, and business intelligence – and bring it to life in an easy, fast, and flexible platform," said Paul Zolfaghari, President, MicroStrategy Incorporated. "The Dresner survey results show that independent analysts and our customers agree that our Mobile Apps are unmatched in terms of customer experience and overall capabilities. We see ourselves as the global leader in mobile BI software."
