Interoute strengthens its security offering by joining Symantec’s cloud service provider program

London, 20 November 2012 - Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, has joined forces with Symantec , the global leader in security, backup and availability solutions, to integrate its best-in-class security products with Interoute's Managed Security Services cloud offering. Interoute is adding a further layer of security into its cloud network so that European enterprises can access a full range of security products in the cloud. Organisations working with Interoute can now enhance how they administer, monitor, and protect their information resources in order to mitigate constantly evolving security threats.

Strengthening its cloud security portfolio, Interoute is now offering email antivirus, antispam, image and content control, endpoint protection, instant messaging protection, email archiving and continuity from Symantec.cloud. From the network level of Interoute's secure cloud environment, through to Interoute's Managed Firewall Service and Managed Network Intrusion Prevention Service, Interoute is delivering a complete security service that can be tailored to meet an organisation's exact security needs.

The latest predictions from Gartner state worldwide spending on security solutions is expected to rise to $60 billion in 2012*, as a result of increasingly targeted and sophisticated security threats.
