Secure Documents go Mobile with iPad App from Cabinet

Cabinet MOBILE allows users to tap through SAFE's intuitive filing structure to securely access any document.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabinet, provider of electronic document management and workflow management software, today announced the release of Cabinet MOBILE for iPad, an app that allows clients to access and use mission-critical documents directly from their iPad. The app allows users to tap through Cabinet SAFE's powerful filing structure to easily access any document on the go. Selected documents can be marked as favorites for instant access, copied for use in third-party apps or "electronically signed" with a fingertip. Best of all, MOBILE enforces the same security settings applied in SAFE and SAFE CLOUD – ensuring that sensitive documentation stays private.

Cabinet MOBILE connects to the Cabinet SAFE 8.5 document management solution. Available both in the cloud and as hosted software, Cabinet SAFE is a complete paperless document management solution, allowing organizations to increase efficiency and security, mitigate compliance risks, save physical space and reduce their carbon footprint — all without fundamental changes to existing workflows and processes.

"MOBILE works well in conjunction with some of the incremental upgrades in SAFE 8.5 that continue to make it one of the leading solutions to create and manage a paperless office," said Bill Winterberg, a technology and practice management consultant who is president of FPPad . "Cabinet clients with an iPad will be able to retrieve and update files that are in their Cabinet repository from anywhere they have an internet connection, whether it be meeting with a client or just maximizing time in an airport lounge. They'll be able to stay engaged with their business 24/7 on their terms, rather than potentially missing opportunities because they couldn't get back to the office, where paperwork or files might have traditionally been."

"We are extremely excited about the new capabilities offered by Cabinet MOBILE," Cabinet president Andrew Bailey said. "The new Cabinet MOBILE app for iPad works perfectly with SAFE 8.5, the most user-friendly and advanced document management software Cabinet has ever produced. Clients – doctors, attorneys, small business owners, financial advisors and more – will find it saves them time, offers more convenient access to mission-critical information and creates greater ROI."

Availability

The Cabinet MOBILE app for iPad is available in the App Store for $9.99. Users of other devices can enjoy MOBILE features through their tablet's web browser using Cabinet WEB.

When applications are hosted on servers, they produce immense quantities of logging data. Quality engineers should verify that apps are producing log data that is existent, correct, consumable, and complete. Otherwise, apps in production are not easily monitored, have issues that are difficult to detect, and cannot be corrected quickly. Tom Chavez presents the four steps that quality engineers should include in every test plan for apps that produce log output or other machine data. Learn the steps so your team's apps not only function but also can be monitored and understood from their machine data when running in production.

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it's important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. "Fly two mistakes high" is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed how this same philosophy can be applied to highly scaled applications, and can dramatically increase your resilience to failure.
