LONDON, Nov. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) has announced that Serco Group Plc, the FTSE 100 international service company, has selected Level 3 to deliver converged IP network services for data, voice and video applications.
(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20111004/LA77008LOGO)
The arrangement will consolidate Serco's data, voice and video services with Level 3, simplifying vendor management and enhancing both operational and cost efficiencies. With conferencing and unified communication services enhanced by Level 3's network, Serco will also be able to deliver a better experience to its employees and better service to its customers with faster and secure access to global applications, faster deployment of successful processes to international offices and consistent pricing and service offerings.
"Level 3's differentiated service, its global capabilities as well as its ability and experience in delivering services to a global customer base, made it clear that they were the provider of choice," said Garry Fingland, Chief Information Officer, Serco Group.
This is a major step for Serco moving to a single supplier which will give the business the scalable, flexible and secure telecoms network to support future business development. With Level 3's collaboration services and global network, Serco aims to extend the value of the new relationship across the company and, as a result, enhance the services and overall experience delivered to its customers.
"Our primary objective was to help Serco operate more efficiently by enabling its employees to quickly and easily communicate with each other via audio, web and video, and we'll be able to achieve that over our global network," said James Heard, Level 3 Regional President of EMEA. "The efficiencies and operational effectiveness created by our services will allow Serco to better serve its customers."
Following the awarding of the contract, Level 3 is continuing to develop its relationship with Serco in terms of delivering converged IP network services across the globe.
