DB Systems Selects Xirrus to Provide High Performance Wireless at Major Events Worldwide

LONDON -- (Marketwire) -- 11/22/12 -- Xirrus, the leader in high-performance wireless networking, today formally announced a partnership DB Systems, a leading Managed Services Provider and Audio Visual (AV) services company. The partnership enables DB Systems' Event Networks division to deploy Xirrus' expanding range of high capacity Wireless Arrays when providing IT infrastructure services at large scale indoor and outdoor events around the world.

Since it was founded in 1994, DB Systems has built an award-winning track record of delivering bespoke AV, IT and networking services at exhibitions, conferences and other types of events worldwide. The company's Event Networks division was founded in 2009 to specialise in providing enterprise-scale AV and IT solutions for major events. With high performance wireless now a critical success factor at such large scale forums, being able to provide a network that can handle high densities of mobile devices is just as important to the company's ongoing success.

According to Oliver Richardson, DB Systems' sales and marketing director, Xirrus' unmatched technological capability and event experience made it a natural fit for the Event Networks division. "This announcement formalises our successful partnership, which has seen DB deploying Xirrus wireless networks at high profile events around the globe over the past few years. All these premier events are marked by an increasing demand for high performance wireless, as thousands of attendees, using a wide range of devices, go online at once. Xirrus is the clear leader in this area, as our experience working with them shows."

One of the most recent events was Sibos 2012 in Japan, which is the world's premier financial services industry event with around 7,000 regular attendees. DB Systems designed and installed the show's complex site-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure using 47 Xirrus arrays. Other events at which DB Systems has provided Xirrus wireless networks include the Farnborough International Airshow, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in London, a Sony Ericsson launch event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and the International Golf Travel Market in Portugal.

With numerous deployments at events across the globe, the unique architecture of Xirrus Wireless Arrays provides 4X the coverage and up to 8X the bandwidth and capacity of traditional wireless systems. With up to 16 radios in each Array the number of physical devices and amount of supporting infrastructure needed is minimised while maximising coverage, enabling a reliable, high performance wireless service for up to thousands of concurrent, heavy bandwidth users.

Sean Larner, VP International at Xirrus, said: "We look forward to continue working with DB Systems, a leader in the provision of temporary IT and AV services at major events around the world. Its decision to continue using our wireless solutions to connect high capacity venues across the globe is testament to the quality, reliability and capability of our offering. Xirrus solutions have proven time and again more than capable of delivering the density and coverage required to provide a seamless Wi-Fi experience to huge crowds of delegates."
