Cerner Partners With Global Capacity to Offer Cerner(R) Skybox Connect(TM)

Cerner Skybox Connect to Provide Private and Secure High Availability Network Solutions for the Health Care Industry

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- Global Capacity, the leading telecommunications information and logistics company, announces that Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN), a global health care IT company focused on optimizing care delivery for health care organizations around the world, has partnered with Global Capacity to deploy Cerner Skybox Connect, a high availability private network for the health care industry.

Cerner Skybox Connect is the first exclusive private network to support the demanding needs of the health care industry. The solution offers a network infrastructure and procurement service that provides access to HIPAA-compliant health care technologies efficiently, reliably, and securely. The network design and architecture for Cerner Skybox Connect is inspired by Global Capacity's One Marketplace Access Exchange -- an automated pricing and procurement platform for global access network solutions.

"When Global Capacity presented its recommendation for a scalable, private, high speed network, with redundancy and accessibility for our community, we were intrigued," comments Tony Linville, Vice President, Infrastructure Services for Cerner Corporation. "When the Global Capacity team illustrated how they would migrate us from our existing ATM / Frame infrastructure, and add value to our network and clients by decreasing operating expenses, increasing productivity, and allowing us to present a competitive offering to the marketplace, we were sold. The reduction in network latency and reliability has exceeded our expectations, delivering superior service to our clients."

"Cerner Skybox Connect aims to transform the way health care organizations do business; it is a comprehensive IT infrastructure platform that helps companies fulfill overall network requirements efficiently and dynamically," adds Patrick Shutt, Vice Chairman of Global Capacity. "Global Capacity presented a new network design that lowers operating costs while providing Cerner clients access to a more cost-effective and efficient communications network that enables the way hospitals, health care professionals, and service providers work together."

"Global Capacity's network solution allows Cerner to run any protocol it requires while increasing capacity, improving quality of service, and lowering infrastructure management costs," adds Jack Lodge, President of Global Capacity. "This is a win-win for Cerner and its clients. Health care facilities can more confidently outsource their networks knowing they gain access to competitive local access rates, utilizing a redundant and secure private network, powered by a team of committed and experienced network engineers."

The Cerner Skybox Connect Network, a multi-phase project, is expected to be complete by the end of 2012. Cerner Skybox Connect provides a multi-point private network with over 1,500 local access connections throughout the United States. The service will provide automated pricing, provisioning, and ordering of tail circuits. In addition to providing network connectivity to CernerWorks(SM) managed service clients, Cerner Skybox Connect will enable Cerner to deliver the entire Cerner Skybox(SM) suite of cloud-based services such as messaging, remote desktop, storage, and protection.
