CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kalio, Inc., a leading SaaS-based e-commerce provider focused exclusively on the needs of mid-sized retailers, today announced record results for its merchants during "Cyber Five," which spans Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday.  Over the five day period, overall traffic jumped 26%, with standout traffic gains of 92% year-over-year coming from shoppers using smartphones and tablets on the platform.  Total transaction volume rose 17%. Virtually every KalioCommerce™ retailer experienced growth in revenue, with the averages being inline with industry averages. However, four clients experienced revenue growth of 100% over 2011 numbers, and several clients experienced growth at over 50%. Cyber Five performance indicates that KalioCommerce merchants are well positioned for strong performance during the 2012 holiday shopping season whether shoppers visit via traditional online channels, mobile devices or tablets

Also of note, the KalioCommerce SaaS-based platform and hosting infrastructure flawlessly served record traffic volumes across all sites during the Cyber Five period.  During the morning peaks of Friday, November 23rd and Monday, November 26th, site traffic increased by 69% over 2011.  On Friday, traffic from mobile devices and tablets reached as high as 104% over 2011. Merchants who attracted a record number of shoppers include Acorn Online, which experienced an increase in traffic of 77%, and the combined B2B and B2C sites for Gardeners Edge and A.M. Leonard, which experienced an average traffic increase of 53% and 72%, respectively, across the weekend. Monday was the highest traffic day of the year thus far, with 32% higher traffic than Friday.

Gary Bell, Director of IT and E-commerce of Touch of Class commented, "We worked with Kalio's e-commerce strategy consulting group to develop and prioritize our holiday season promotion plans and sales improvement initiatives. Then, using the platform's ability to identify customers who had abandoned a cart, we triggered an automated nurture campaign whereby we e-mailed these customers with images and links to those products they had previously placed in the cart.  This abandoned cart campaign was a top source of revenue for us, and we plan to continue to use this and other strategies to grow revenue throughout the season."

KalioCommerce is dedicated to building easy-to-configure e-commerce technology that delivers compelling sites and rich shopping experiences.  With KalioEnterprise™ as the foundation, and KalioMobile™ and KalioTablet™ extensions, merchants can deliver these shopping experiences to consumers easily and without the help of IT.  Kalio makes it easy for consumers to buy where, when, and how they want. The result is stronger performance and happier, more loyal customers.

"While we expected solid numbers for the first big holiday shopping weekend, the standout performance of many of our merchants reinforces our belief that speed of change directly impacts our customer's ability to grow their revenues," said Jonathan Lee, President and CEO of KalioCommerce. "The impressive increase in sales, especially for our KalioTablet optimized site customers reaching 242%, is testament to the value of properly tuned sites for these devices. We are also seeing that our merchants' use of flexible promotions and marketing programs is helping them capitalize on holiday buying dynamics. Our highly configurable e-commerce platform empowers users to make changes swiftly, and to test new ideas and identify those that really deliver the growth. We look forward to our customers' continued success during the upcoming critical weeks."
