Interoute first to offer live, full visibility of Enterprise Managed Security Services in the cloud

Interoute's pan European cloud service lets enterprises see and react to network firewall threats as they happen

London, 4 December, 2012 - Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, has launched the industry's first fully visible Next Generation Firewall platform which provides a complete, real-time view of all activity, along with advanced reporting capabilities. Provisioned within Interoute's cloud, the service enables enterprises to see exactly what is happening on their network firewall at any given time, as if the service were on site, and dovetails with the visibility available across all of Interoute's Managed Security Services.

With cybercrime costing the average enterprise £2.1 million per year, Interoute's new service gives European organisations control of the firewalls protecting their network boundary, helping them stay one step ahead of the internet threats that endanger businesses.

Accessed through a centralised management platform, European organisations can now more easily view and analyse their overall security performance in real-time, from overseeing web application access to identifying hacking attempts, helping ensure business compliance. Instant reports can be generated and emailed directly to whoever in the business needs that intelligence, while users can also schedule regular, automatic reports without the need for manual intervention.

This new offering enhances Interoute's Managed Security Services portfolio, which is built from the ground to the cloud into the core of Interoute's extensive fibre network, hosting and data centre services. Available as fully visible managed services, organisations can pay monthly for a range of threat mitigation options from Interoute, which also include a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Mitigation Service, Network Intrusion Prevention Service and Content Filtering for Email and Web.

Jeff Finch, Security Services Product Manager, Interoute comments: "It is more important than ever to examine web applications and secure the enterprise at every level of the network. Today's cybercriminals are increasingly sophisticated and the attack vectors are crafted to take advantage of business users. Interoute's Managed Security Services are designed for today's enterprises, which need to see exactly what's happening on the corporate firewall as it is happening, rather than having to wait for a report once the damage is already done. An enterprise cannot make informed decisions on its security posture without visibility of its defences. Our strategy recognises the enterprise's need for visibility of its security devices."

Interoute's Next Generation Firewall service is available now to enterprises across Europe. Interoute offers support for implementation and operation, ensuring that individual business needs are met without any disruption to the day-to-day running of the organisation.

One of the cloud’s biggest draws is the capability to virtualize computing resources, allowing it to be consumed with the click of a mouse. But behind that simple click is an enormous infrastructure challenge that has recently been cited as a major cause for slower enterprise adoption.
