Xceedium Xsuite Named Best Privileged Access Management Solution in GSN’s 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards

Xceedium, the leading provider of privileged identity and access management solutions for the hybrid cloud, today announced that its Xsuite platform won Best Privileged Access Management Solution in the 4th Annual Government Security News (GSN) Homeland Security Awards. The GSN Homeland Security Awards recognize the best of the homeland security community’s federal, state, and municipal government officials; government contractors; systems integrators; IT vendors; and physical security product and solutions providers. Winners were honored at the Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. on November 29, 2012.

A panel of objective judges selected the Homeland Security Awards winners, according to Jacob Goodwin, Editor-in-Chief of GSN. The selection of Xceedium as a winner in the Best Privileged Access Management Solutions category was driven by the company’s flagship product, Xsuite. Xsuite controls, monitors, and audits everything privileged users do across on-premise, cloud, or hybrid cloud-based IT infrastructures. It’s built on a zero trust model that denies access to all systems and resources except those explicitly permitted by policy.

Today’s hybrid-cloud computing environments exacerbate long-standing privileged identity and access management issues, while adding new challenges to the mix. The federal government’s data center consolidation and Cloud First initiatives are driving virtualization and cloud adoption. But these technologies include new risks, including the ultimate superuser account, the management console. Console accounts yield significant power and open up new security risks. Xsuite protects both management consoles and infrastructure such as servers and network devices. With Xsuite, access controls can be seamlessly defined, applied, and enforced across the full range of IT infrastructures – enterprise data centers, virtualized infrastructure, and public or private clouds.

“Traditional perimeter defenses cannot protect against privileged user risks. We are very proud of the work we have done to help U.S. federal agencies protect their systems and comply with mandates like FISMA and HSPD-12,” said Ken Ammon, Chief Strategy Officer at Xceedium. “Winning this award and being recognized among such an elite group validates our zero trust approach to privileged identity and access management, along with the great work our team has done to support agency missions.”

GSN announced winners in 42 different homeland security categories. For a complete listing of all winners, please visit: www.gsnmagazine.com.

One of the cloud’s biggest draws is the capability to virtualize computing resources, allowing it to be consumed with the click of a mouse. But behind that simple click is an enormous infrastructure challenge that has recently been cited as a major cause for slower enterprise adoption. Enterprises can better prepare for this shift and take full advantage of future computing benefits. Between architecture design and migration planning, the road can be long, so what do you do with your talent? I...

Budget constraints can leave some of the best, most creative and most ingenious innovations on the cutting room floor. It’s a true dilemma for developers and innovators – why spend the time creating, when a project could be abandoned in a blink? That was the old world. In the new world of IT, developers rule.
