CloudPrime Introduces QuickDrop -- the Safest and Most Secure Way to Communicate in an Insecure World

CloudPrime, the leader in innovative cloud-based secure messaging today announced QuickDrop, the safest way to communicate and send files of any type -- documents, texts, music, videos or photos to, and between, mobile devices. QuickDrop is a first-of-its-kind, free, secure communications app providing users with the highest level of security available on a mobile device. QuickDrop combines extraordinary ease-of-use with seamless mobile device integration, enabling users to share files of any type with no size limitations. QuickDrop is available immediately for iPhone and iPad, and will be available for Mac Desktops and Android devices in Q1 2013.

CloudPrime makes the public cloud as secure as a private network through its proprietary Secure Messaging Fabric, backed by four secure messaging patents and millions of dollars in R&D. With QuickDrop message encryption and tracking are done at the file level, as opposed to on a macro or application level, ensuring no long-term storage of messages in the public cloud and guaranteeing message data will never be compromised.

CloudPrime was founded by experts that developed some of the most well-known enterprise messaging brands, such as IBM, AT&T and SlamDunk Networks, as well as the industry’s first hosted messaging service, which acted as the Internet’s “post office” for large scale corporate email delivery, Critical Path. The company is leveraging this unique combination of experience to bring enterprise-class secure messaging communications to a free, easy-to-use app that integrates seamlessly with mobile devices.

“We live in an insecure world where unfortunately our inalienable right to privacy is no longer guaranteed,” said Bob Miller, co-founder and CEO at CloudPrime and former executive at IBM. “I’ve spent most of my career in the business of enterprise communication and secure messaging and the combination of what I learned led me to see the need for a cloud-based, secure communications solution to enable everyone to have affordable, enterprise-class security on their mobile devices. It’s estimated that 87 percent of the world’s population has a mobile device and the most popular functions are email and text. But that doesn’t mean those forms of communication are secure. For information that needs to remain private there is no better solution than QuickDrop.”

CloudPrime’s Secure Messaging Fabric is a messaging layer on top of a public cloud, which eliminates the need for a physical point-to-point connection while providing additional routing and performance related functionality for secure, one-to-many file sending. The fabric also has built in redundancy that assures message delivery and avoids outages. QuickDrop transforms a mobile device into a secure communications platform that is capable of delivering files to users around the world securely and reliably.

QuickDrop affords users with:

  • An intuitive Inbox/Outbox user interface for message sending and receiving
  • Military grade encryption (256-bit AES) for privacy and digital certificates for authenticity and non-repudiation
  • Guaranteed delivery of messages and files sent along multiple paths to ensure the data is never lost or compromised
  • Adherence to compliance guidelines such as Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, HIPAA, PCI and EU Privacy for secure document transfer
  • Sender-to-receiver secure transfer of any type of document of unlimited size, with no need to download or save private documents in the cloud

“With the increasing security breaches and financial scams taking place daily, our firm utilizes QuickDrop to ensure client privacy and security, which gives us and our clients’ peace of mind,” said Laurence Balter of Oracle Investment Research.

“Email is maybe the most-utilized method of communication between lawyers and parties, but it does not provide the highest level of security, and human error, especially with respect to the ‘reply-all’ button, can inadvertently deliver very sensitive information to the wrong people,” said Derek Lipkin, associate, CAI International, Inc. (NYSE: CAP), and early adopter of the QuickDrop app. “QuickDrop eliminates that risk by allowing users to communicate sensitive information directly to the people who need to see it, with the utmost protection. Further, the security QuickDrop provides could change how parties close deals by allowing them to exchange fully executed documents electronically, while having the confidence that those documents are authentic, ultimately saving both time and money.”

The QuickDrop app is available as a free download in the Apple app store. Users will be able to send any data free of charge for the first 30 days of use, and there is no fee for receiving documents. Data delivery after the first 30 days of use is available on a price per MB module, and users can send 1GB of data at a cost of less than $10.

One of the cloud’s biggest draws is the capability to virtualize computing resources, allowing it to be consumed with the click of a mouse. But behind that simple click is an enormous infrastructure challenge that has recently been cited as a major cause for slower enterprise adoption. Enterprises can better prepare for this shift and take full advantage of future computing benefits. Between architecture design and migration planning, the road can be long, so what do you do with your talent? I...
