LE LEADER LINGUAMATICS DÉCROCHE UNE SUBVENTION POUR L'EXPLORATION MULTILINGUE DE TEXTES BIOMÉDICAUX.

Un facteur clé pour une exploration de texte réussie est l'utilisation de bases terminologiques fouillées renfermant les différentes manières dont un concept peut être exprimé. Or, bien que des bases terminologiques étendues existent pour l'anglais, cela n'est pas nécessairement vrai pour les autres langues.

Selon Wikipedia, un mantra est un « groupe de sons, syllabes ou mots capable de créer une transformation ». MANTRA est également l'acronyme très à propos d'un nouveau projet de recherche financé par l'Union européenne baptisé « Multilingual Annotation of Named entities and Terminological Resource Acquisition » (annotation multilingue d'entités nommées et acquisition de ressources terminologiques), auquel Linguamatics a le plaisir d'annoncer sa participation en tant que partenaire commercial.

Le projet MANTRA vise à enrichir des bases terminologiques multilingues dans le domaine biomédical par l'exploitation de corpus parallèles en différentes langues. Par exemple, sachant qu'un brevet français (revendications 4, 5 et 6) fait référence à une enzyme ramifiante, il devrait être possible de découvrir le synonyme allemand précédemment inconnu Verzweigungsenzym à partir des revendications 4, 5 et 6 de la traduction allemande. Le nouveau synonyme peut alors être utilisé pour l'analyse d'autres ensembles de documents. Des bases terminologiques dans une langue et les mêmes documents dans d'autres langues peuvent être explorés simultanément pour produire des bases terminologiques enrichies dans ces autres langues.

Parmi les participants à ce projet de deux ans figurent l'université de Zurich (CH), la Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena (DE), l'Erasmus Medical Centre Rotterdam (NL), Averbis GmbH (DE) et l'EMBL-EBI (European BioInformatics Institute) (DE).

Linguamatics travaillera à la fois aux phases de recherche du projet et à la présentation des avantages qu'offre l'utilisation de son moteur d'exploration de texte de pointe I2E.

Le projet MANTRA fournira des bases terminologiques multilingues et des documents multilingues avec annotation sémantique, par exemple, des brevets, afin d'améliorer l'accessibilité des informations scientifiques pour les documents multilingues. Le projet exploitera ces ensembles de documents multilingues pour collecter des termes et des formulations de concepts dans différentes langues et ainsi enrichir les ressources terminologiques actuellement disponibles telles que MeSH.
