Linguamatics broadens the utility of its market-leading text mining platform with the launch of a new Web Services API, Virtual Data Integration and new Chemistry capabilities

Linguamatics is proud to announce the launch of a dramatically enhanced version of its already successful and well established text mining software platform, I2E. Significant step change enhancements in the latest release, Version 4.0, have been added in terms of Web Services, Virtual Data Integration and Chemistry, amongst others. These improvements have been made as part of Linguamatics’ continuing investment in research and technology development.

Web Services API: The new Linguamatics I2E WSAPI (Web Services API) will open up the power of state-of-the-art natural language processing (NLP) based text mining to a broader range of users within the organization by allowing easier and more focussed interfaces for different audiences. Organizations will therefore find it much easier to embed text mining into core systems and work flows, deployed via intuitive, accessible, customized interfaces.

Virtual Data Integration: Regardless of how many disparate data sources need to be mined, I2E now has the power to analyze and extract information and knowledge from all of them simultaneously. This enables users to dramatically increase the speed of their knowledge extraction, by avoiding the need to carry out a series of separate searches over multiple data sources. It also makes it easy to create queries that connect together the different data sources, allowing information from different silos to be brought together to create new knowledge.

Advanced Chemistry: Linguamatics I2E can now deal with recognition of novel compounds, which will give informaticians, researchers and patent analysts the power to investigate uncharted areas of innovation. Recognition and analysis of chemical names allows powerful searching, for example to find chemicals which share a particular structure, substructure or similarity score.

Users will also benefit from other new features, including a new reporting format for query results. The product innovations in Version 4.0 will collectively mean that NLP-based text mining can be used by more people, more easily and in a more sophisticated and powerful fashion.

ABOUT LINGUAMATICS

Linguamatics is the world leader in deploying innovative natural language processing (NLP)-based text mining for high-value knowledge discovery and decision support. Linguamatics I2E is used by top commercial, academic and government organizations, including nine of the top ten global pharmaceutical companies. I2E can be used to mine a wide variety of text resources, such as scientific literature, patents, clinical trials data, news feeds and proprietary content. It is available as an in-house enterprise system, a managed service and software-as-a-service (SaaS) on the cloud.

Typical applications in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, government and healthcare include:

  • Mapping gene-disease relationships and identifying potentially novel therapeutic targets
  • Biomarker discovery
  • Drug repurposing
  • Drug safety
  • Patent analysis
  • Clinical trial site selection and study design

Cloud Expo Breaking News
“Trust is an ongoing journey and sits at the foundation of any vendor relationship – the companies that don’t consistently earn trust won’t be around long,” noted Henrik Rosendahl, Senior VP of Cloud Solutions at Quantum, in this exclusive Q&A with Cloud Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan. “As they do more with cloud, trust will organically grow – maybe it’s just about meeting SLAs or seeing firsthand that data is there when you need it,” Rosendahl continued. Cloud Computing Journal: The move ...
If zettabytes of data exist, why is less than 1% of the world’s data being analyzed today? Seasoned entrepreneur and startup CEO Radhika Subramanian believes that the inability to analyze and gain value from Big Data is that organizations are taking a services-centered approach. As the title of the session implies, Subramanian believes that the data needs to do the talking, not armies of analysts searching and querying databases. Her company has developed high-speed, advanced algorithms to autom...
Cloud enables SMBs to access new, scalable resources – previously only available to enterprises – in flexible and cost-effective ways. McKinsey’s SMB Cloud Report projects the public cloud market to reach $40-$50 billion by 2015, with SMBs comprising 65% of public cloud spending in 2015. But selling cloud to SMBs raises the questions of who, what and how. In this session Manjula Talreja, VP of Cisco’s Global Cloud Business Development Team, will discuss the importance of knowing who SMB...
Analyzing Hadoop jobs and speeding them up is often a tedious and time consuming effort that requires experts. In his upcoming session at 12th Cloud Expo | Cloud Expo New York [10-13 June, 2013], Michael Kopp will be showing how proven APM techniques can be used to speed up Hadoop jobs at the core, without going through tons of log files, beyond just adding more hardware and within minutes instead of hours or days.
Our more interconnected planet is accelerating the adoption and convergence of next-generation architectures, in the form of cloud, mobile and instrumented physical assets. Organizations that can effectively balance optimization and innovation, will be in a position to leverage new systems of engagement, out maneuver their peers and achieve desired outcomes. In the Opening Keynote at 12th Cloud Expo | Cloud Expo New York, IBM GM & Next Generation Platform CTO Dr Danny Sabbah will detail the crit...

Organizations across the world are increasingly starting to see the benefits of moving more and more services to the cloud. The focus on the cost-saving potential of cloud is rapidly shifting to completely transforming the business with cloud. As organizations are investing enormous sums on technology they are starting to realize that in order to maximize the return on investment and accelerate the business transformation process the first area of focus should be people. By ensuring the organiza...
A recent study by analyst firm IDC reports that in 2012, 1.7 million cloud computing-related roles across the globe could not be filled due to the lack of training, certification and experience in the applicant pool. As the global demand for cloud and big data expertise increases, employers are finding it difficult to recruit talent, which is slowing down the ability for organizations to adopt, implement, and realize benefits from innovative platforms like OpenStack. In this session join Clo...
