Gartner Positions Verizon in the Leaders Quadrant for Asia-Pacific Network Service Providers

SINGAPORE, Dec. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Industry analyst firm Gartner Inc. has placed Verizon in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner's new report, "Magic Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers,"[i] for the sixth consecutive year.

The report evaluates network service providers offering international network services to multinational companies with regional networks in the Asia-Pacific region.

Andrew Dobbins, Verizon's Asia-Pacific group vice president, said: "The introduction of Verizon Enterprise Solutions has really energized our market presence in 2012. We've continued to increase our foothold within the managed services space, with enhancements to our existing product portfolio, and the introduction of new solutions such as Enterprise-Mobility-as-a-Service and Open Video. With our world-class global network as the essential platform for integrated industry solutions, we will play an increasingly critical role in helping our customers transform how they do business in Asia-Pacific."

Positioning in the Gartner Magic Quadrant is based on a service provider's completeness of vision and ability to execute, which includes several criteria such as customer experience, and sales execution and pricing.

Gartner notes in the report that "the market is moving progressively beyond the provision of connectivity, with most providers also offering a range of managed services, including WAN management and optimization, IP telephony, network security and videoconferencing. Most managed services have improved significantly in terms of features and performance due to advances in networking technology, which will help drive demand. Providers that excel in this area will be in a better position to become leading players."

Verizon was also recently positioned in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers"[ii] and "Magic Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Providers"[iii].

Verizon Enterprise Solutions creates global connections that generate growth, drive business innovation and move society forward.  With industry-specific solutions and a full range of global wholesale offerings provided over the company's secure mobility, cloud, strategic networking and advanced communications platforms, Verizon Enterprise Solutions helps open new opportunities around the world for innovation, investment and business transformation.  Visit verizon.com/enterprise to learn more.
