DR Systems Unity PACS Named "Best in KLAS" PACS for 2012

KLAS® has recognized DR Systems and its Unity™ RIS-CVIS-PACS platform as the #1 ranked PACS vendor and product in its “2012 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services” report.

This is the third year in a row that DR Systems and the Unity Platform have received the honor. DR Systems was rated ahead of all other PACS providers in its market segment including McKesson, FUJIFILM, Carestream Health, GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips, and Merge.

The award marks the sixth time since 2001 that DR Systems has been ranked the #1 PACS vendor by KLAS. The company received the #1 PACS vendor ranking in 2001, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, and now 2012. Additionally, in 2007, DR Systems was ranked the #1 overall healthcare information technology vendor by KLAS.

KLAS is a prominent research and consulting firm that specializes in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare information technology vendors, including picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) companies. Healthcare executives, managers, and clinicians representing several thousand hospitals and clinics contributed feedback for the KLAS report.

“We are honored and humbled to receive this reward for the sixth time in the past twelve years. First and foremost, Best in KLAS reflects the commitment our customers and our staff have to each other. Since DR Systems was founded in 1992, our mission has always been the same: to enhance the clinical and financial success of our healthcare customers,” said Richard Porritt, DR Systems' President and CEO. “We now provide a complete platform of enterprise image and information management technologies and services for Radiology, Cardiology, and Pathology including RIS, PACS, Reporting, Scheduling, Document Imaging, Advanced Image Processing, PACS-neutral archive, EHR, PHR, and cloud-based imaging sharing via eMix. Despite all of the growth and changes in technology, our commitment to the success of each and every customer has remained constant, which is why this award is so gratifying.”

Murray Reicher, MD, FACR, Chairman and co-founder of DR Systems had this to add, “We thank KLAS for their extensive and independent research. KLAS provides us unbiased customer feedback throughout the year. Our attention to that feedback has enabled us to remain the leader in customer satisfaction in our arena.”

If zettabytes of data exist, why is less than 1% of the world’s data being analyzed today? Seasoned entrepreneur and startup CEO Radhika Subramanian believes that the inability to analyze and gain value from Big Data is that organizations are taking a services-centered approach. As the title of the session implies, Subramanian believes that the data needs to do the talking, not armies of analysts searching and querying databases.
