2013 Technology Convergence Conference's Data Center Case Studies Track to Feature Inside Look at Industry Operations

Speakers From Protective Life Insurance, Box, and eBay to Discuss Data Center Challenges, Growth, Asset Tracking Efficiency, and Metrics

FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/04/13 -- TELADATA, a leading consulting firm specializing in design, planning and project management for converging technologies, today announced that its 2013 Technology Convergence Conference will feature end-user case studies as part of its data center speaking track.

The Data Center Case Studies track will focus on data center lifecycle case studies and provide insight into environmental and operational challenges and successes. The track (one of three at the conference) will highlight the end-user's experience on initiatives to achieve common data center goals and best practices through power and capacity management, restoring legacy data centers, and monitoring.

Dean Nelson, Vice President, Global Foundation Services (GFS) at eBay, will deliver a presentation titled eBay's New Data Center Metrics, a case study on implementing standards to measure data center efficiency and future operations.

Jeff Routledge, Director of Data Center Operations at Box, will present a case study titled Managing Power in a Hyper-Growth Environment: How Box, the Fastest Growing SaaS Company in History, Manages Their Data Center Environment, highlighting the power challenges faced in an effort to trend and manage data center usage, capacity and efficiency.

Joseph Keena, Manager of Data Center Operations at Shands HealthCare, and Robin Stringfellow, IS Senior Data Center Analyst at Shands HealthCare, will co-deliver a case study on choosing a DCIM solution and obtaining the ability to track IT assets across multiple data centers in a presentation titled How Shands HealthCare Saved 50% in Asset Tracking Efficiency.

John Markley, Manager, Global Data Center Operations at Robert Half International, will be joined by Walt Otis, Manager North American Data Center Operation at Robert Half International, and Dale Beckett, IT Project Manager at Robert Half International, to deliver a presentation titled There is Hope! How to Extend the Life of your Existing Data Center, on accommodating growth challenges in a decade or older data center by improving mechanical and IT infrastructure within the space.

Kyle Brown, Technical Documentation Manager at TELADATA, will moderate a panel discussion titled Tackling Legacy Data Center Challenges with panelists Jim Allen, Vice President of Information Technology at Protective Life Insurance, and Kevin Barney, Data Center Manager at University of California, San Francisco.
