INRIX Parking ist ein Service mit Echtzeitinformationen und geht über statische Ziele und Sehenswürdigkeiten hinaus. Der Dienst zeigt Park-Tarife, die Zahl der verfügbaren Plätze und detaillierte Ortsinformationen. Zudem wird die Datenbank kontinuierlich mit Informationen über Parkhäuser und Parkplätze in Nord-Amerika und 36 weiteren Ländern in ganz Europa erweitert und auf den neuesten Stand gebracht.

Experten gehen davon aus, dass Parkplatz-suchende Autofahrer 30 Prozent der städtischen Verkehrsstaus verursachen. Eine Studie von IBM über Pendler in 20 internationalen Städten bestätigt, dass sechs von zehn Fahrern die Suche nach einem Parkplatz mindestens schon einmal aufgegeben haben oder mindestens 20 Minuten nach einem Parkplatz gesucht haben.[i] INRIX Parking geht auf dieses Problem ein und bietet Tarif- und Verfügbarkeitsinformationen, um Fahrer zur Einfahrt in den Parkplatz zu navigieren, der ihrem Ziel am nächsten liegt.

Kenwood ist das erste Unternehmen, das INRIX Parking in seine beiden neuen fest installierten DVD-Entertainment-Receiver integriert, die auf der CES vorstellt werden. Es sind die ersten Empfangsgeräte der Branche mit eingebauter WiFi-Kommunikation über die Kenwood Cloud. INRIX bietet den Besitzern der Excelon DNN990HD und DNN770HD Receiver topaktuelle Informationen zu Verkehr, Parkmöglichkeiten, Kraftstoff und Wetter, so dass Autofahrer Zeit, Sprit und Frustration sparen.

Die INRIX Parking Datenbank umfasst mehr als 18.000 Parkplätze in Nordamerika und 42.000 in europäischen Ländern, die für die Verwendung im Auto und von unterwegs aus von den führenden Anbietern ParkMe und Parkopedia bezogen wurden.
