Empower Software Solutions Appoints John Whisner as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Empower Software Solutions, a leading provider of workforce and human resources (HR) solutions, has announced the executive appointment of John Whisner to the position of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Whisner will report to President and CEO Jim Hoefflin and will become a member of the company’s leadership team.

Whisner will be responsible for the sales and marketing activities related to Empower Software’s workforce and HR solutions which include: EmpowerTalent™, the company’s talent management solution, EmpowerTime™, the company’s core time and attendance solution, EmpowerHR/Pay™, the company’s HR and payroll platform, and EmpowerTax™, Empower Software’s payroll tax software and outsourcing business. He will focus on go-to-market strategies aimed at attracting clients looking for an alternative to large industry stalwarts, emphasizing Empower Software’s client focus and innovative technology. He will also run the company’s channel partner program. He comes to Empower after serving in successful senior leadership roles at Ceridian and Recall.

“Adding a talented and successful leader like John to our team punctuates how serious we are about demonstrating our expertise and client focus to our target markets,” says Hoefflin. “The companies we serve best are too sophisticated for entry-level solutions, and aren't happy with the technology and service they are getting from large providers. We are thrilled to have John, who has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to recognize HR market opportunities and drive explosive growth.”

“I am extremely excited to lead sales and marketing in a dynamic, high energy and client-focused organization like Empower Software,” says Whisner. “For years, companies have felt that only large industry giants like Ceridian or ADP could solve their HR technology problems. I believe the market is ready for a new approach and Empower Software has the ideas, solutions and client support to upend our competitors.”

You're getting pitched every day from your legacy enterprise software and hardware vendors about "cloud." They're doing an amazing job of convincing your CIO and CTO about what cloud is and how you should use it. The reality is they're defending their shrinking market share and keeping you on the legacy treadmill for as long as they can by selling you solutions that aren't "cloud." In her session at the 12th International Cloud Expo, Niki Acosta, Cloud Evangelista for Rackspace, will talk thro...

One of the most compelling promises of the cloud is that you can pull out a credit card and be working in minutes. No purchase orders to fill out, no equipment to wait for on the loading dock. Just instant access to the resources you need, when you need them. But accessibility comes at a price, and an unintentional consequence may be that you create yet another orphaned identity silo. Enterprise IT has spent years consolidating its mishmash of directories, only to discover that cloud now threate...
