Flexiant and SolidFire Integrate to Help Customers Build Differentiated Cloud Services

Integration of SolidFire's All-SSD Storage and Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator Combines High Performance Storage Technologies With Cloud Management Software to Deliver Better Value and Improved Experience for Service Providers' Customers

LONDON and BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/22/13 -- Flexiant and SolidFire today announced the integration of SolidFire's all-SSD storage system with Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator. Using this combined solution, customers can now build cloud service offerings that are uniquely differentiated across both cost and quality of service.

SolidFire's unique blend of storage performance and quality-of-service, when paired with Flexiant's mature, reliable and feature-rich management software, offers service providers ready-to-use cloud infrastructure. With the integration announced today customers can now granularly provision storage performance (IOPS) and capacity across the SolidFire cluster on a per volume basis from within Flexiant's Cloud Orchestrator console.

With SolidFire and Flexiant's integrated capabilities, customers can accelerate deployment of their private or public cloud infrastructure services and address three of the most frequently encountered challenges in managing cloud infrastructure today; consistent performance, provisioning flexibility and management automation.

Tony Lucas, Product Champion and Founder, Flexiant, said, "SolidFire has addressed the problems of delivering predictable multi-tenant cloud storage in a way that existing storage systems cannot. The SolidFire / Flexiant integration gives customers the storage system to be a high-performance leader, and the orchestration software for on-demand, fully automated provisioning of cloud services. This combination will enable cloud services providers to gain a competitive business edge through differentiated service offerings."

"A key aspect to any of our partnerships is helping customers accelerate time to value," said Dave Wright, CEO, SolidFire. "Integrating with key cloud building blocks like Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator is a critical piece of this equation."

"Integration with SolidFire was quick and very straight forward through the use of their REST based APIs," added Lucas. "It has allowed us to offer cloud service providers a level of storage provisioning, automation and scale that simply cannot be achieved by any other solution on the market."

With similar heritages, Flexiant and SolidFire were both founded to solve the headaches encountered when companies are forced to use legacy tools to deliver cloud services. Tony Lucas developed Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator to solve the cloud management issues faced as he delivered cloud services in prior roles. Similarly, Dave Wright founded SolidFire after witnessing first-hand the unique storage challenges in a multi-tenant cloud infrastructure. Together, this integration and partnership combines best of breed products designed to solve real world cloud infrastructure challenges in a market ready package.

One of the cloud’s biggest draws is the capability to virtualize computing resources, allowing it to be consumed with the click of a mouse. But behind that simple click is an enormous infrastructure challenge that has recently been cited as a major cause for slower enterprise adoption. Enterprises can better prepare for this shift and take full advantage of future computing benefits. Between architecture design and migration planning, the road can be long, so what do you do with your talent? I...
