SailPoint today announced that 2012 was another banner year for the company – in addition to growing its annualized bookings by 4x over the last three years, the company hired 100 new employees and expanded into Asia. Additionally, the company has been named a Leader in two of Gartner Inc.’s 2012 identity and access management-related Magic Quadrants: Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Identity and Access Governance (IAG)” and “Magic Quadrant for IT Administration/User Provisioning.” SailPoint’s placement in both reports was based on the company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute. As part of the process, Gartner conducted an exhaustive product and company evaluation and interviewed customers.
“SailPoint defined and pioneered the IAG market, and we continue to be recognized for our innovation and thought leadership in that space,” said Kevin Cunningham, president and founder of SailPoint. “The growth trajectory we have experienced in the IAM market is a direct result of our ability to understand what our customers need and provide the technology that best addresses those pain points. The fact that in a few short years we leapfrogged so many legacy products and companies and are now positioned as a Leader in provisioning is a testament to our focus on customers and our ability to out innovate the market.”
SailPoint continues to receive such high market recognition because it drives innovation in the IAM market. Used by hundreds of the world’s largest organizations spanning 126 countries, the company’s flagship product, SailPoint IdentityIQ™, was the industry’s first identity and access management solution to integrate provisioning and compliance into a single solution leveraging a common identity governance framework. In 2012, SailPoint unveiled IdentityIQ 6.0, which includes easy-to-use, consumer-level features to further accelerate the active participation of business users in managing access while reducing their IT risk and meeting stricter compliance requirements.
In 2012, further showcasing the company’s ability to deliver innovative products to market, SailPoint also extended its product portfolio to bridge the gap between the IAM needs of the enterprise and emerging cloud applications. SailPoint AccessIQ™ is the industry's first and only solution that seamlessly integrates cloud access management with rich identity governance and automated provisioning.
“SailPoint is rapidly becoming one of the largest stand-alone identity providers,” continued Cunningham. “As indicated by our leadership placements in two prestigious Gartner IAM Magic Quadrants, coupled with the additional industry recognition we’ve garnered along the way, we are committed to staying ahead of the challenges our customers face. As we look ahead to this year and beyond, we will continue to provide the solutions our customers need and support them each step of the way as they incorporate new technologies such as cloud and mobile in their overall IAM strategy.”

There is no doubt that Big Data is here and getting bigger every day. Building a Big Data infrastructure today is no easy task. There are an enormous number of choices for database engines and technologies. To make things even more challenging, requirements are getting more sophisticated, and the standard paradigm of supporting historical analytics queries is often just one facet of what is needed. As Big Data growth continues, organizations are demanding real-time access to data, allowing immed...

Fundamentally, SDN is still mostly about network plumbing. While plumbing may be useful to tinker with, what you can do with your plumbing is far more intriguing. A rigid interpretation of SDN confines it to Layers 2 and 3, and that's reasonable. But SDN opens opportunities for novel constructions in Layers 4 to 7 that solve real operational problems in data centers. "Data center," in fact, might become anachronistic - data is everywhere, constantly on the move, seemingly always overflowing. Net...

The move in recent years to cloud computing services and architectures has added significant pace to the application development and deployment environment. When enterprise IT can spin up large computing instances in just minutes, developers can also design and deploy in small time frames that were unimaginable a few years ago. The consequent move toward lean, agile, and fast development leads to the need for the development and operations sides to work very closely together. Thus, DevOps become...

DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. With a business context in the decision making, the right business priorities are incorporated, which results in a higher value creation. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...

The Domain Name Service (DNS) is one of the most important components in networking infrastructure, enabling users and services to access applications by translating URLs (names) into IP addresses (numbers). Because every icon and URL and all embedded content on a website requires a DNS lookup loading complex sites necessitates hundreds of DNS queries. In addition, as more internet-enabled ‘Things' get connected, people will rely on DNS to name and find their fridges, toasters and toilets. Acco...

We certainly live in interesting technological times. And no more interesting than the current competing IoT standards for connectivity. Various standards bodies, approaches, and ecosystems are vying for mindshare and positioning for a competitive edge. It is clear that when the dust settles, we will have new protocols, evolved protocols, that will change the way we interact with devices and infrastructure. We will also have evolved web protocols, like HTTP/2, that will be changing the very core...
