Arrow adds Interoute Virtual Data Centre to its ArrowSphere online marketplace

Thousands of EMEA resellers now able to offer Interoute's proven, secure and resilient cloud infrastructure

London, 29 January, 2013 - Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, is working with Arrow Electronics Inc. to offer its Virtual Data Centre (VDC) on ArrowSphere, a unique online platform that connects cloud service providers with resellers.

Interoute's VDC extends the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings available to resellers through Arrow's Enterprise Computing Solutions segment. With Interoute's VDC now available to Arrow's strong reseller base across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the new alliance will help Arrow resellers meet medium sized enterprise demand for proven, secure and resilient IaaS, without the need to invest in cloud capabilities themselves.

A scalable, fully automated solution, Interoute VDC provides on-demand computing, storage and applications integrated into the heart of an IT infrastructure, giving organisations the same level of physical Data Centre control as over an outsourced virtual environment. Organisations can provision and modify entire ICT solutions on demand, with just a few clicks. Interoute's multiple VDC zones across Europe also allow for the creation of cost effective disaster recovery and highly resilient architectures. Built into the Interoute network, which forms Europe's largest cloud services platform, organisations can choose whether they access Interoute's VDC either over the public Internet, privately as part of their corporate ICT infrastructure, or both.

Matthew Finnie, CTO, Interoute said, "Arrow has a proven track record of excellence in the reseller market. Adding Interoute's Virtual Data Centre to the ArrowSphere online platform is an important development in our strategy to support the channel as it looks to meet the increasing demand for proven, secure and resilient cloud infrastructure."

Eric Taillard, VP Cloud EMEA, Arrow ECS, said, "We are delighted to add Interoute's VDC to the ArrowSphere cloud reseller platform. ArrowSphere delivers an online multi-tier platform that brings together all the elements of the cloud for resellers. Infrastructure-as-a-Service is a critical part of the cloud ecosystem, so adding Interoute's Virtual Data Centre provides additional opportunities for our solution provider community to sell and succeed in the cloud market."

Joel Stradling, Research Director, Current Analysis, said, "Interoute's partnership with Arrow promotes Interoute's cloud-based ICT vision with a new and exciting distribution net. The win-win relation should push sales of Interoute's IaaS proposal, which is automated and runs on top of the provider's strong infrastructure assets, into a broad target market formed by Arrow ECS's vast army of 12,000 value-added resellers."

Transacting since September 2012, ArrowSphere is a channel brokerage platform for cloud services in the European market. Using ArrowSphere, resellers can automatically provision the billing, procurement and delivery mechanisms required to provide Interoute's VDC to customers in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Denmark. The VDC solutions are offered alongside a full range of additional products and services, including infrastructure, software, storage, and security-as-a-service solutions from leading cloud providers. In the coming months, Interoute also plans to extend the alliance with Arrow by adding Storage, Backup and the unified communications solution Hosted Lync to the ArrowSphere platform.
