Feb 5, 6pm PST Live Cisco Webcast: VNI Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast Update (2012-2017)

On Tuesday, Feb 5th, we will announce the findings of our annual Cisco VNI Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast, 2012-2017. Now in its sixth edition, this annual report projects future mobile data traffic growth and trends over cellular networks (2G, 3G, adn 4G) as well Wi-Fi offload. The updated study includes projections around worldwide and regional mobile data traffic growth, device proliferation, and other mobile internet industry trends. Here's what you'll learn:

  • What key trends are driving global mobile data traffic growth?
  • How fast is global mobile data traffic growing?
  • What are the key regional growth projections?
  • What's the effect of various device/connection types (smartphones, tablets, laptops, and machine to machine)?
  • How much cellular traffic will be offloaded to fixed networks?
  • Will mobile cloud applications be a significant factor in mobile data traffic growth?
  • How is 4G adoption changing the mobile landscape?

 

The event will also include a discussion on the implications of surging bandwidth demands on service provider networks, consumers, business services and policies for the radio spectrum. The event is available via webcast on CiscoTV Ustream for those unable to attend in person.


Who:

Doug Webster, Cisco vice president of global service provider networking marketing, will share the latest findings of the Cisco Visual Networking Index forecast for global mobile Internet data traffic through 2017.

Robert Pepper, Cisco vice president of global technology policy, will discuss various policy implications and potential global impact of the expansion of the mobile Internet.
