MedDirect Empowers Office Personnel with Launch of Online Payment Portal for Patient Responsibility Balances

MedDirect, MedData’s dedicated patient payment responsibility services brand, announced today the national launch of their online portal for front office personnel to manage payment processing for patient responsibility balances.

The MedDirect Point of Service portal is a web-based solution that streamlines payment processing for any required patient responsibility balance including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and outstanding balances from previous service charges. The secure, cloud-based solution doesn’t require any software or updates, is fully customizable by client location and user, and includes full-service support and on-site training. Office personnel can easily access patient balances and process credit card or electronic check payments for full or scheduled payment arrangements based upon criteria established by client preferences.

When used in conjunction with the MedDirect patient pay service, clients are fully empowered to search for existing patient balances and accept payments at the time of care, and can even use a built-in scheduling tool that identifies which upcoming patient visits have outstanding balances, allowing for adjusted patient scripting at the time of registration.

“MedDirect’s Point of Service portal firmly places the MedDirect solution at the forefront of patient expectations surrounding communications and processing for outstanding patient responsibility balances,” stated Ann Barnes, MedData’s chief operation officer. “The benefits are expansive; our clients now have a simple and integrated method to identify, access, and process multi-payment options at the point of registration, and patients can also access our online portal to process outstanding balance payments at their convenience. Now, more than ever, our MedDirect patient pay service is a must-have for any medical specialty that facilitates patient responsibility payments.”

If zettabytes of data exist, why is less than 1% of the world’s data being analyzed today? Seasoned entrepreneur and startup CEO Radhika Subramanian believes that the inability to analyze and gain value from Big Data is that organizations are taking a services-centered approach. As the title of the session implies, Subramanian believes that the data needs to do the talking, not armies of analysts searching and querying databases.
