nCircle Announces PureCloud Risk Center Widget for Spiceworks

nCircle, the leader in information risk and security performance management, today announced the new nCircle PureCloud Risk Center widget for Spiceworks. More than 2.4 million IT professionals in over one million small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) use Spiceworks to manage their IT environment and connect with peers. The nCircle PureCloud Risk Center widget provides Spiceworks users with complete results from their latest PureCloud vulnerability scan as well as breaking security news.

“Security remains one of the top priorities for SMB IT departments who need to protect business information and address compliance requirements,” said Jay Hallberg, co-founder and vice president of marketing at Spiceworks. “The new nCircle widget will help Spiceworks users address an important need directly from the application they use each day to do their jobs.”

nCircle PureCloud is the first cloud-based vulnerability management solution that requires no hardware or software to be installed or managed. nCircle PureCloud dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of vulnerability scanning for internal and external networks, making the practice easily accessible to small and medium businesses. With PureCloud, customers can proactively identify and fix the network vulnerabilities attackers use to steal critical business information.

nCircle PureCloud includes web application scanning and Amazon cloud security scanning at no additional charge. With 70 percent of security threats being directed at web application vulnerabilities, and small business adoption of cloud services expected to triple in 2013, it’s crucial to control risk in these areas.

nCircle PureCloud also includes SmartScan, the latest PureCloud innovation. SmartScan is the only “hands-free” solution for zero-day scanning that requires no manual intervention or set up. When PureCloud users select SmartScan, targeted systems are automatically scanned for the latest emerging threats and critical vulnerabilities, and if these vulnerabilities are present, users are alerted so they can mitigate potential threats.

“We’re very excited about our partnership with Spiceworks and the opportunity to make network security an even more integral component of the Spiceworks application,” said Ed Colonna, vice president of cloud solutions. “The new Risk Center widget makes it easy for Spiceworks users to access up-to-the-minute network security status as well as a steady stream of breaking security news.”

The nCircle PureCloud widget is now available for free in Spiceworks 6.2, which can be downloaded at http://www.spiceworks.com. For more information about PureCloud, please visit https://purecloud.ncircle.com/home/ or call (415) 625-5930.
