SmartProcure Launches New Solution to Lower Government Purchasing Costs

SmartProcure, LLC, announces the launch of an online information service that provides access to local, state, and federal government procurement data, enabling government agencies to make more efficient procurement decisions and save taxpayer dollars.

Local, state, and federal government agencies in the U.S. spend over $20 billion each day – which totals over $7 trillion dollars of goods and services annually. Combined these agencies represent the largest purchaser in the world. Yet only a very small percentage of procurement information is ever shared between these agencies and, as a result, government organizations rarely benefit from their enormous collective purchasing power.

SmartProcure enables government agencies to save time and money through unparalleled access and sharing of data. The proprietary system provides access to data from over 27 million purchase orders issued by 1500 government agencies. Access to the purchase order information combined with the system’s analytical and reporting functionalities provides agencies with the opportunity to save an estimated 10-25% on purchases of all goods and services. SmartProcure is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution (requiring no hardware or installation of software) that is provided free to government agencies.

“SmartProcure is a revolutionary service providing agencies the information they need to analyze and award procurements faster and more efficiently,” said Jeff Rubenstein, founder and CEO of SmartProcure. “Our solution transforms government purchase order data into useful information that assists agencies in making better acquisition decisions.”

SmartProcure enables agencies to identify prospective vendors, evaluate pricing parameters, confirm vendor performance, leverage existing contracts, and share lessons learned. Additionally, the system provides government agencies the ability to conduct in-depth analysis on procurement trends related to specific goods and services, regional and state acquisitions, vendor contract awards, and overall government spending.

“SmartProcure is the only solution that provides us with aggregated spend analysis across all levels of government (national, state, and local). It provides immediate information about what our vendors are charging us compared to other government agencies. SmartProcure has dramatically helped us leverage our negotiation power with our vendors, ultimately resulting in cost savings for the products and services we buy. Best of all, there is no cost or obligation to us for using the software. Conducting this type of in-depth research on our own would simply be cost and time prohibitive,” said David Santucci, Purchasing Manager for the City of Deerfield Beach (FL).
