Das von iLOC Technologies entwickelte TRiLOC PLD enthält das Modul Cinterion PHS8 M2M von Gemalto. Es liefert gleichzeitig Hochgeschwindigkeitsdaten und Sprachkommunikation sowie Ortungsdaten mithilfe von GPS. Die Lösung von Gemalto übermittelt den genauen Standort einer Person auf das Mobiltelefon oder den Computer einer bestimmten Pflegekraft, während, falls erforderlich, auch eine Zweiwege-Sprachkommunikation mit Freisprechfunktion über das Telefon möglich ist. Über eine entsprechende Funktion kann die Pflegekraft von einem anderen Standort aus mithören und so erkennen, ob unmittelbare Hilfe erforderlich ist, und der Träger des Geräts kann im Notfall eine SOS-Taste drücken. Das TRiLOC PLD kann über Bluetooth™ 4.0 mit mHealth-Geräten (mobile Geräte mit Gesundheitsanwendungen), intelligenten Hausgeräten und Sicherheitslösungen synchronisiert werden und Statusaktualisierungen an die Pflegekräfte senden. Optionales Zubehör für die Pflegekraft ermöglicht eine positionsspezifische Erkennung und elektronisches Tethering, das heißt, es werden sofort SMS und Audioalarme übermittelt, wenn eine Person sich zu weit weg bewegt. Außerdem kann ein Warnhinweis geschickt werden, wenn das fest am Körper gesicherte Bändchen manipuliert wird. Die erweiterte Energieverwaltungstechnologie Cinterion M2M von Gemalto verlängert die Akkulaufzeit für einen längeren Betrieb, bevor eine erneute Aufladung erforderlich ist.
