CASC creates a forum for the leading certificate authorities (CAs), which are responsible for the majority of all digital certificates issued, to discuss and develop industry standards and to present a single unified voice in the promotion of SSL and secure transactions and communications over the Internet. It also provides the public with a single resource to direct inquiries to and to contact for information and education.

"At GlobalSign, our mission is to restore trust in SSL through education, provide enhanced services that allow customers to identify and remedy vulnerabilities, and drive appropriate standards and best practices that protect organizations from advanced threats. These threats come in the form of cyber criminals and hackers as well as state-sponsored attacks and espionage efforts," said Steve Waite, CEO, GlobalSign Americas. "We are proud to be part of the CASC and collaborate with the leading global CAs on the goal of advancing security standards for the industry as a whole. Together we can work toward the improved deployment of a trustworthy SSL ecosystem."

In addition to supporting the CASC, GlobalSign is a member of other industry associations dedicated to advancing the strength of Internet security technologies such as SSL, including The Certification Authority/Browser (CA/B) Forum and the Anti-Phishing Working Group. GlobalSign is also an adopter member of the Trusted Computing Group.

"No one actor in the ecosystem has the ability to change the Internet as a whole, it takes collaboration," said Ryan Hurst, GlobalSign CTO, "GlobalSign wants to help all businesses to communicate and execute transactions across the Internet with confidence. By joining this association, we are furthering our commitment to this goal."

You're getting pitched every day from your legacy enterprise software and hardware vendors about "cloud." They're doing an amazing job of convincing your CIO and CTO about what cloud is and how you should use it. The reality is they're defending their shrinking market share and keeping you on the legacy treadmill for as long as they can by selling you solutions that aren't "cloud." In her session at the 12th International Cloud Expo, Niki Acosta, Cloud Evangelista for Rackspace, will talk thro...
The rise of cloud computing has exposed hard drive-based storage as the new data center bottleneck. Combating this, data center managers have deployed SSDs to gain the performance needed to provide real-time access to data. However, due to budget constraints, many have turned to consumer-grade SSDs without understanding that they wear out quickly when processing enterprise workloads. In this session, Esther Spanjer will discuss recent endurance advancements in SSD technology that enable usage of...
