Mobily and Jasper Wireless Partner to Power M2M in Saudi Arabia

Mobily, one of the leading communications companies in KSA, along with Jasper Wireless, the leading connected devices platform for machine-to-machine (M2M) and consumer electronics, today announced an agreement to wirelessly connect machine-to-machine (M2M) and consumer electronics devices in Saudi Arabia.

The Jasper Wireless platform is a cloud-based solution that will enable Mobily to quickly and at low cost connect devices across its network. Jasper Wireless will provide Mobily with the necessary applications and services to profitably connect and manage a range of embedded wireless devices across myriad verticals including automotive telematics and infotainment, consumer electronics, smart metering and building automation.

“Mobily is a rapidly growing mobile operator in the MENA region with impressive market share and the opportunity for it to capitalize on industry demand for M2M communications is ripe, particularly in the automotive vertical,” said Cindy Patterson, Chief Revenue Officer, Jasper Wireless. “Automotive OEMs are crystalizing their connected vehicle strategies in 2013 and will be seeking the mobile operator partner that can serve and enhance their distribution with a connected devices platform that easily scales. The partnership provides Mobily with the necessary applications and services to accelerate its offerings profitably into existing and emerging connected devices market sectors.”

“Mobily is renowned for its focus on innovation and its approach to evolve technology and services to meet business needs. Jasper’s cloud-based model will enable us to accelerate time-to-market with new agile services, as well as give us full visibility and intelligent control of how devices are connecting to and using the network,” says Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi, Chief Business Officer at Mobily. “Through automating operational processes, the Jasper platform will enable us to streamline activities, reduce total cost of ownership and provide excellent customer support. We are pleased to work with the company that is globally proven as a reliable and trusted partner to many operators and their enterprise customers,” Dr. Marwan continued.

As more and more devices come to market with embedded connectivity, market success depends on finding the right business models to service different verticals and consumers globally. Jasper Wireless has developed the applications and services that support highly flexible business models as well as the automation of operational processes, including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real-time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports, ensuring a superior out-of-box end-user experience.

Mobily joins a growing list of other Jasper Wireless operator partners including AT&T, América Móvil, NTT DOCOMO, Telefónica, VimpelCom, KPN, SingTel, Etisalat, Telstra, Rogers, CSL and more.
